Round 11. Oakland - JaMarcus Russell, QB, L.S.U.I'm still on the "Leftwich to Oakland" train, but until that happens they desperately need to replace Aarron Brooks. JaMarcus is THE top prospect, not just the top QB prospect, with all the tools to succeed.2. Detroit - Joe Thomas, OT, WisconsinA lot of people will be screaming for Brady Quinn, but the Lions can afford to hold off on a QB for a year or two and build their team up in preparation. Joe Thomas will be the eventual OLT in Detroit.3. Tampa Bay - Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech. When Quinn falls to them they'll start taking trade offers and talk about keeping him for themselves, but in the end will take Calvin Johnson to give Chris Simms someone to throw to before they give up on him.4. Cleveland - Brady Quinn, QB, Notre DameElated that Brady Quinn has dropped to them, it's the no-nonsense pick. Not even the Texans or Lions could screw this up. And with the Charlie-Romeo connection Quinn should have a smooth transition.5. Arizona - Jamaal Anderson, DE, ArkansasI'm predicting a surge in Jamaal's stock for him to jump over Gaines Adams here, but when you look at it objectively there is nothing Adams has that Anderson doesn't, and Anderson has more physical skills.6. Washington - Alan Branch, DT, MichiganThe Redskins are in desperate need of an upgrade over Cornelius Griffin, or at the very least someone legitimate next to him. Alan Branch is the sure-fire way to upgrade their defense.7. Minnesota - Gaines Adams, DE, ClemsonMinnesota has been searching for a legit Defensive End for a while now, and while Erasmus James might pan out sometime, they'll still need someone to command the other end. 8. Houston - Adrian Peterson, RB, OklahomaHouston is in need of a Running Back in a bad way. Word is they are hoping that Ron Dayne will resign with them. Adrian Peterson might not have the durability, but he has the talent.9. Miami - Amobi Okoye, DT, LouisvilleThe Dolphins need a complete overhaul of their defense. Their top 4 Defensive Tackles are 32, 38, 37, and 34 in the 2007 season. Amobi Okoye is 19 years old and still getting better.10. Atlanta - Reggie Nelson, S, FloridaThe Falcons are reportedly moving to Chris Crocker to SS to start his work of tacking over for Lawyer Milloy. This means either they need to draft a FS or move Jimmy Williams over.11. San Francisco - Dwayne Jarrett, WR, Southern Cal.If teams were awarded draft picks based on number of holes in their roster, the 49ers would be right near the top. Jarrett is of good value here, and gives the 49ers a 3rd level to their passing game.12. Buffalo - Leon Hall, CB, MichiganThe Bills are probably going to lose Nate Clements, and even if they are able to ink him to a contract, Terrence McGee is your immediate number 2? Leon Hall is the top CB in this draft.13. St. Louis - Lawrence Timmons, OLB, F.S.U.The Rams still have a load of offensive talent for the next couple years and if they are going to make a run with it they need serious defensive players and they need them to contribute right away.14. Carolina - Patrick Willis, ILB, Ole MissThe Panthers might be losing Dan Morgan, and even if they don't the extremely talented Morgan is beyond "injury prone." Willis might not be an "immediate upgrade" but he'll be a valuable asset for the Panthers.15. Pittsburgh - Quentin Moses, DE/OLB, GeorgiaSteelers' new Head Coach Mike Tomlin said that he will use a healthy mix of both 4-3 and 3-4. Quentin Moses can roll as the OLB in the 3-4 and be the immediate spell DE in the 4-3.16. Green Bay - Dwayne Bowe, WR, L.S.U.Green Bay had a great half-season from Greg Jennings, but they need to add another WR as Donald Driver is about finished; and no player has helped his cause more in the Senior Bowl than Bowe.17. Jacksonville - Ted Ginn Jr., WR, Ohio St.Despite devoting several picks recently to the position, the Jaguars have yet to strike gold. While I'm not high on Ginn, most scouts fall in love with his speed and big-play ability. 18. Cincinnati - LaRon Landry, S, L.S.U.The Bengals need help at both Safety positions, and Landry can play either. Landry only falls this far down the board because he's not the ballhawk some teams look for and is more of a blanket cover guy instead.19. Tennessee - Adam Carriker, DE, NebraskaAdam Carriker helped his cause nearly as much as Bowe did at the Senior Bowl, blowing up the top-level O-Linemen and doing it consistently. The Titans need this upgrade at Defensive End.20. New York Giants - Darrelle Revis, CB, PittsburghNeither Sam Madison nor R. W. McQuarters are anything close to a long-term answer at Corner. Getting Revis in now will allow him to work his way into the starting role and hold it for years to come.21. Denver - Sidney Rice, WR, U.S.C.Rod Smith is fading fast and Denver is going to need to put someone opposite Javon Walker with playmaking ability. Rice and Walker will be able to slash opposing defenses giving Denver plenty of running room.22. Dallas - Victor Abiamiri, DE, Notre DameWhomever the coach to replace Bill Parcells is, he's going to want an upgrade over Chris Canty at DE. Abiamiri is a Shaun Ellis type that can excel at either the 4-3 or the 3-4 in all facets of the game.23. Kansas City - Levi Brown, OT, Penn St.Kansas City needs some new OT's in a big way, and Levi Brown being here for them is just perfect. A studly run blocker who can pave the way for Larry Johnson until his wheels fall off.24. New England (via SEA) - Daymeion Hughes, CB, Cal.People keep expecting Hughes to fall off, but he's actually gained ground at the Senior Bowl and has been looking as good as ever. New England is likely losing Asante Samuel and Ellis Hobbs could be gone too.25. New York Jets - Brian Leonard, RB, RutgersBrian Leonard's stock has exploded at the Senior Bowl showing he can do everything, literally everything, that coaches ask of him. And that's exactly the kind of RB that Mangini would like to add to the backfield.26. Philadelphia - Paul Posluzny, OLB, Penn St.Quite the fall down the board eh? Posluzney has shown that he has the best instincts of any LB at the Senior bowl and is excellent at play recognition. His physical skills have dropped him down to here though.27. New Orleans - Quinn Pittcock, DT, Ohio St.New Orleans would have loved to have Posluzny tumble just one more spot, but since he hasn't the smart thing to do would be to beef up the center of that D line to help hold down the fort for the LB's they've got.28. New England - Ben Grubbs, OG, AuburnThe Patriots fell to the Jets because of 1 factor: pressure on the QB. The Patriots fell to the Colts largely because of pressure on the QB. The Patriots need to suck it up and put some protection in front of Brady.29. Baltimore - Marshawn Lynch, RB, Cal.Marshawn's value took a huge blow after sexual assault accusations, but Baltimore is in need of a new RB and has shown the aptitude to deal with difficult people and personalities before.30. San Diego - Brandon Meriweather, S, MiamiMeriweather got into one little fight on the football field and it cost him 20 draft spots and 10's of millions of dollars. The Chargers don't mind benefiting from this, picking up the most talented Safety in the draft.31. Chicago - Marcus McCauley, CB, Fresno St.The Bears shocked the analysts and drafted Defense on the first day last year, and they'll do it again this year. With no WR of value availible and a need at CB, McCauley is a good pickup for the Bears. 32. Indianapolis - Buster Davis, ILB, F.S.U.The Colts have good run-stopping DT's and a good run-stopping DE, but their LB's can't stop a RB or break an O-line block. Buster Davis is a tenacious LB who has no issue taking on, and beating O-linemen.Round 233. Oakland - Ryan Harris, OT, Notre Dame 34. Detroit - Jarvis Moss, DE, Florida35. Cleveland - Eric Weddle, S, Utah36. Tampa Bay - Glenn Dorsey, DT, L.S.U.37. Arizona - Arron Sears, OL, Tennessee38. New York Jets (via Was) - Chris Houston, CB, Arkansas39. Minnesota - Michael Griffin, S, Texas40. Houston - Joe Staley, OT, Central Michigan41. Miami - Ryan Kalil, OC, Southern Cal.42. Atlanta - DeMarcus Tyler, DT, N.C. State43. San Francisco - LaMarr Woodley, DE/OLB, Michigan44. Buffalo - Tony Ugoh, OT, Arkansas45. St. Louis - Earl Everett, OLB, Florida46. Dallas - Sabby Piscitelli, S, Oregon St.55. Kansas City - Josh Beekman, OG, Boston College56. Seattle - Zach Miller, TE, Arizona St.57. New York Jets - Jay Moore, DE/OLB, Nebraska58. New Orleans - Rufus Alexander, OLB, Oklahoma59. Philadelphia - Anthony Gonzales, WR, Ohio St.60. New England - Anthony Spencer, OLB, Purdue61. Baltimore - Tim Duckworth, OG, Auburn62. - Anthony Spencer has had a very nice week himself, he's gonna go Mid Second Round at Worst now.- Piscatelli and Duckworth would be lucky to go Day 1 at all, nevermind Second Round.- Charles Johnson will go in the First 2 rounds.- Did you watch Ryan Harris at the Senior Bowl? I can't think of a single person who didn't beat him. No way he's that high. Ugoh was better then both him and Staley.- I cant see us taking Leonard with Blalock/Grubbs/Moss and even Woodley still on the board. Too much value there, we'd take him in Early Round 2 IMO if we're going to, and yes he'll be available there because he's a tweener.

Right now he's got a 3rd round resume so they'd be picking him where he should go.If he goes earlier it means a team is reaching out of need, IMO.
If the Jets take Brian Leanord with Marshawn Lynch still on the board, that would be insane. Lynch has the potential to be a great running back. Leonard is a great player and a great guy and he went to Rutgers, but there is a huge gap of talent there in my opinion. We can easily get Leonard in the 2nd round with one of our two picks.
You said we need an upgrade over Griffin?? Griffin, when healthy, is one of the best DTs in the game and makes a HUGE impact on our defense. But I do agree we need another DT. Having Branch and Griffin would be sickkk. However, I hope we trade down to get Okoye instead (that way we get another first day pick).
The Browns Don't Need a Saftey, They have Sean Jones and Brodney Pool (Both 2nd round picks) and Brian Russell.Give us either LaMarr Woodley to replace an old Willie McGinest or Justin Blalock to fix the offensive line because it is horrible in the 2nd.
Like the 1st round pick. That would give us corn-fed country-boy Nebraska Cornhuskers on both ends of the D-line Not so sure about the 2nd round WR pick. I wouldn't imagine they'll be looking WR at a high pick since their last few dating back to '97 haven't exactly panned out (Joey Kent, Kevin Dyson, Tyrone Calico, Cortney Roby). I don't pay much attention to the draft so I'm not sure how deep some positions are, but I see them going either Safety or MLB to help our league-worst defense.I don't doubt that they'll take a WR, but not until the 3rd round at the earliest, IMO.

And there are a LOT of good DE's this year.-Piscatelli is highly underrated, and Duckworth is a fringe 2nd rounder depending on team needs.-I watched Ryan Harris. He's a good pass blocker and wasn't beaten NEARLY as much as guys like Joe Staley.-Brian Leonard has been crazy good this past week and showed he can do everything. If we don't grab him in the first he's gone by the first 2nd.

In some years Zach Miller would be a 3rd rounder. It's only lack of quality at the position that pushes them higher.

I would like to say that Josh Wilson is a late 1st to early 3rd pick. When the combine comes out, his stock will go up pretty high because he's one of the fastest CBs. I would say he would go to a team like the Saints late 2nd (if he's still around) since they had problems with Fred Thomas all year.Or the Patriots who might lose Asante Samuel to FA.

There are so many good DE's this year that a lot have fallen farther than they should. It's not their fault, but teams can't draft BPA all the time for DE's when they don't need DE's.

Daylon McCutcheon injured his Knee and was out for the season, Gary Baxter was playing with a partially torn chest muscle until he tore the patellar tendons in both knees, and Leigh Bodden missed seven games with ankle injuries. It also led us to have to play players such as Ralph Brown and Daven Holly. We don't need a Saftey, We need a Cornerback if we draft D-backfield.
