<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>MIAMI (AP) -- Memo to kick returners playing in championship games: Think twice about running the opening kickoff back for touchdowns. It didn't work for Ted Ginn Jr. and Ohio State in the Bowl Championship Series title game. And it didn't work for Devin Hester and the Chicago Bears in the Super Bowl on Sunday night.Hester became the first player in Super Bowl history to return the opening kickoff for a touchdown, taking one back 92 yards and staking the Bears to a 7-0 lead over the Indianapolis Colts. From there, though, it was all Indianapolis, as Peyton Manning and his Colts went on to post a 29-17 victory."It was what I'd been envisioning all week and for the last two weeks," Hester said. "We wanted to come out and open it up with a good kickoff return. Fortunately, that happened, but the sad part is that we didn't come out with a victory."It was the eighth time in Super Bowl history that a kickoff was returned for a touchdown. Desmond Howard has the longest kickoff return in the game's history, a 99-yarder for Green Bay against New England in 1997.Hester, who played college ball at Miami, set an NFL record with six kick returns for touchdowns this season and was the only rookie on The Associated Press All-Pro team.</div>
I have to admit, there aren't many draft picks I can think of that I was more wrong on than Devin Hester. My biggest issue though is that Kick Returners generally don't have much shelf life. Chad Morton got big bucks to leave the Jets and has done nothing since, and where has Dante Hall been?
Whats the record? Being the only guy to return an opening kickoff? And Chad Morton was also a product of Mike Westoff's coaching though......I think he'd still be an above-average returnman if he was still on the Jets.
I actually predicted pregame that this game would be like the NCAA national championship game. Hester returns opening kick and after that it's all colts.. i was close to right but I thought it would be a bigger margin.

^Isn't that 3 seconds by Roy Williams (Cowboys)And it wasn't 100% like the national title game, b/c Hester didn't injure himself celebrating the TD

Hester is pretty much incredible at returning, incredible that he is only a rookie, I wonder how long he can keep the numbers the way he did this year.

Second, you're thinking of Randal Williams.

My bad
