I'm going to be out of town all weekend . I'm going to have to tape the Saturday shit... hopefully I can catch some of the Rookie game and some of the All Star Game.
The entire night was pathetic. People half assed through most of the 'drills' and the dunk contest sucked. NBA Should be Embarrassed to show that during All-Star Weekend.

Nobody even tried during the Skills challange except for Dwyane Wade, they have nobodies trying to do dunks and then wonder why each person missed like 4 dunks. It's sad when the highlight of the night was Charles Barkley facing the ref in the race.
I thought it sucked. I'm not a fan of basketball, but in any sport the All-Star game should create fun for both fans and non-fans alike. I didn't enjoy watching any of it, especially the dunk contest. What the hell is jumping over the smallest table there got to prove? Green got a 50 for that, what is that shit? I think Howard should have been in the finals, just because of that sticker dunk.
How can some of you say it sucked when the NFL one is pure crap?It goes: NBA > MLB > NHL > NFLCapt. Comeback, to answer you question about the small table, it wasn't just that he jumped over a table. It was the fact that he put the table just in front of the free throw line and did a WINDMILL.

As if he didn't already prove that one when he leaped Nate Robinson just 2 dunks before. And I do think the 'Sticker Dunk' was overrated because as Kobe said to him 'Look at you man', when you're 6'11" with long arms it isn't that difficult to be able to get a hand that high. While it was unique, the difficultly level of it for him was rather low.
You're half right about that, Venom. I could care less how tall a player is, and what sex they are. When Candace Parker won the dunk contest in high school, I thought I was going to kill myself. Yeah, she's a girl... so what? It's a dunk contest; her dunk sucked and she shouldn't have won it. Any dunk Nate Robinson did they were gonna rate higher than Dwight Howard's because of his height. It's a dunk contest. A dunk contest. The player with the best dunk should win, period. BTW, Dwight Howard can barely touch net while standing up. He touched the top of the backboard on the sticker dunk. And to do three things in mid air (catch the ball, stick the sticker, than make the basket) is remarkable IMO.
he has a vertical leap to 12 feet 6 inches...think about that....thats TWO AND A HALF FEET HIGHER than the rim. 90% of the NBA Maxes out at 11 feet tops. He shoulda beat out Nate...i hate nate robinson...he does the most basic dunks and itl ooks better cuz hes tiny.... GErald Green deserved to win though...the dunk he did off the side of the BBoard, and the nolook over Nate was hot

My thing though is that dunk any more difficult then Gerald Green jumping over a 5'9 (Supposibly) Nate Robinson or a 5'9" (Supposibly) Nate Robinson doing the Statue of Liberty dunk from a 6'9" David Lee with his arm raised straight up. I don't think it is.

And I think you do have to consider Nate's height, because while some of the Dunks might be easy for someone with the height advantage like Gerald Green to do, it becomes substancially more difficult when you're 5'9" (And probably closer to 5'6" in reality.)

NBA is horrible, the NFL is pretty garbage too, same with baseball. The NHL has a lot more variety of different things. Anyone can shoot a 3 pointer when they are by themselves, a lot of people can dunk (they don't even choose the best dunkers for the competition), and basically anyone can do those "drills." They pick based on popularity, not skill.
I just watched the recap of the dunk contest on You Tube cause I missed it.How is Green's dunk that good? What was that table at...12 inches max? I hate when they're biased towards short people who jump over people, but Robinson's dunk was 10x better then that and a lot harder to pull off.Robinson should've won.
