<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>POSTED 8:16 p.m. EST, February 25, 2007FLETCHER OFF THE MARKET?One of the hot rumors in Indy is that Bills linebacker London Fletcher already has struck a deal with the Washington Redskins. Fletcher, a nine-year veteran who has played with the Rams and the Bills, was believed to be a target of the Redskins and the Lions, and possibly others. Of course, even if the 'Skins and Fletcher have a deal, it doesn't mean that the arrangement is binding. Since any contact between a pending free agent and a different team is prohibited, there can be no binding contract at this point.Last year, it was widely believed that the Eagles had an agreement in principle with center LeCharles Bentley, who made a beeline for Cleveland once the free-agency period started.</div> http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm

Ha, another illegal move by Snyder... gotta love it [IMG] ... at least linebackers can't be busts. But yeah, every rumor website said he's our #1 FA target, followed by Clements who we will sign later on March 2nd ;)Venom, linebackers and safeties are best when they're old. Fletcher is still a top 5 MLB.

Fletcher's tackles:1998 St. Louis Rams 28 1999 St. Louis Rams 90 2000 St. Louis Rams 132 2001 St. Louis Rams 1162002 Buffalo Bills 147 2003 Buffalo Bills 133 2004 Buffalo Bills 142 (5th in NFL)2005 Buffalo Bills 157 (T-2nd in NFL)2006 Buffalo Bills 146 (3rd in NFL)Since 1999, he played in every game and started all of them. He is also one of the better coverage LB's, alongside guys like Donnie Edwards, Lemar Marshall (uggh), Thomas Davis, Lance Briggs, etc. He can also get to the quarterback as well as any MLB.I would love a guy like him here in Washington.

He will bust as soon as he gets to washington. Snyder needs to learn how to build through the draft. That's why the skins suck so bad.

Ray Lewis is 31 years old (Hmm, the same age as Fletcher) and he's considered not the same player he once was, Zach Thomas has lost a step and he's 33.As for your second point it's completely laughable. I'd rank all 10 of those MLB's I listed above Fletcher. London Fletcher is notorious for racking up tackles 5-6 yards downfield on Run Plays after they already got a huge gain. It's part of why the Bills finished 28th in Rushing Defense last year (and 31st in 2005).

If he went to the Jets he would be the next Lawrence Taylor :whistling:But he's probably going to Washington so he's not good at all and is overpaid, right? Please, Snyder, trade for Peyton Manning! I'm really curious to see how many people say he's not even top 10.

It's hard for skins fans to admit that snyder is no good for some reason. Who was the last team to win the super bowl with complete FA talent? .. that's right. It never happens. Build through the draft and don't overpay for old guys.

For what it's worth he has yet to make a single Pro-Bowl, but you expect people to believe he's a Top 5 Middle Linebacker when he simply is not. He is a good Linebacker and a solid starter, but he's not a Top 5 MLB and it's very debatable if he is even Top 10. I also think it's safe to assume that the Redskins would overpay because A) They always do and [IMG] He wouldn't have reportably struck a deal with the Redskins without seeing what's out there in the open market if they didn't.

So you don't think Fletcher will be an upgrade over Marshall? Because a lot of peple say he's a top 10 MLB (even though Redskins fans know he sucks at MLB [he's an OLB]). Yet to make a pro-bowl? Like I care... Al Harris is the best cornerback besides Bailey and he never makes it.

But yes, I would say Fletcher is an upgrade, but at what cost?

Ive also heard that Strahan wants to go to the Redskins. But i think that was so far fetched it didnt deserves its own thread. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>POSTED 10:29 a.m. EST; UPDATED 11:59 a.m. EST, February 26, 2007STRAHAN TO THE 'SKINS?There's talk at the scouting combine in Indy that Giants defensive end Michael Strahan wants to become a member of the Washington Redskins. On the surface, the chances of the Giants trading Strahan within the division seem to be remote at best. But, as the rumor goes, Strahan is prepared to be difficult in the locker room if the team won't let him leave. The presumed motivation? Money. Strahan had a lot of it. Last month, he was ordered to give a lot of it to his ex-wife. And the Redskins are always willing to overpay. Especially at a time when the free-agent market doesn't contain many high-end performers at the position. For the Giants, moving Strahan could be a short-term curse but a long-term blessing. The team has been dysfunctional for several years, and the continued presence of guys like Strahan has not helped the situation. At all. With TiVi Barber and LaVar Arrington and Luke Pet-a-goat already gone, it makes sense (in our view) to continue to clear out the chronic malcontents. Like Strahan. And Plaxico Burress. And Jeremy Shockey.Strahan, 35, is under contract with the Giants for the next two seasons, at salaries of $4 million per year. He missed seven games due to injury in 2006.</div>

Giants won't just cut him, and they'd only trade him in Division for a ransom of picks IMO. I agree that it's pretty farfetched. If money is the issue, the Giants should just pay him, and Strahan should do some more advertisements as NY is the best market for that outside of maybe California.

Venom, isn't Strahan one of the worst defensive ends in the league? [IMG]

More on that Srahan rumour... <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>POSTED 7:28 p.m. EST, February 26, 2007STRAHAN RUMORS INTENSIFYWe continue to hear, from different sources, that Giants defensive end Michael Strahan is looking to make a cash grab by getting out of New York. The most likely target continues to be the Redskins.Strahan, 35, is under contract with the Giants through 2008. He needs to replenish his savings account in the wake of a recent court ruling requiring him to pay his ex-wife a whopping $15 million.</div> Basically the same as before..
