With the 49ers?? <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>POSTED 7:10 p.m. EST, February 26, 2007ADALIUS HAS A DEALIO?An industry source tells us that Ravens linebacker Adalius Thomas already has a deal in place with the San Francisco 49ers. Thomas and Niners coach Mike Nolan were together in Baltimore, when Nolan was on Brian Billick's staff. On Sunday, Thomas admitted that the Ravens "don't have the money" to re-sign him.</div>

Makes sense, they need a big LB to fill in the shoes of the recently lost Julian Peterson

I hope this isn't true as he'd be a perfect fit on the Jets and we have the money to match it I'm sure, but we'll see.

It's also a good fit to the 49ers who love to bring the blitz from the edges. As a sort-of-Ravens-fan, I would hate to see him go, but almost anyone can excel in a Billick-coached team.BTW, did Rex Ryan get fired? Anyone know?

No way Rex Ryan got fired. Only way he leaves the Ravens is to become a head coach.

I can definately see Adalius Thomas signing with the 49ers. They really need a playmaker on D

So how do you figure? Anyways Nolan has a pretty good edge over other teams since he coached AD in Baltimore, and Ozzie even hinted he feels Thomas will end up in SF. Hopefully it happens, looks to be the most realistic scenario with AD so far.

At most you're talking maybe a 15 million cap hit in Year 1 assuming you front loaded the contract which the Jets most definitely can at least match considering reports had us between 20-28 million open in cap room, and since then the Jets have already made 2 cuts opening 3 million in cap room, and other dead weight cuts like Blaylock, Ramsey, and Barrett could save at least another 5 million. We're talking Jets having anywheres from 28-36 million under the cap.

Well in that case I would just think Nolan would tell AD if we were outbidded then add a couple million dollars to his latest offer and come to us.

As much as it sucks to see his leave, he is going to be 30 by next season. With how much PT and hitting he does, he's going to be like Ray Lewis on the downside of his career. Except Adalius didn't start early and Ray had 2 years of injuries.Personally I think anything over 6 million for 3 years would be overpaying.

I think he has many good years left in the tank. And Nolan would know how to get his money's worth.

I wouldn't want to see him go, he's a great versatile player.

Quote from my Boston buddies.'Adam Shefter said on WEEI this morning that the Patriots were leading contenders for Adalius Thomas and that he expected him to be a Patriot within 24-48 hours, sources told him.' If the Jets don't get him, I'd much rather see him in San Francisco then New England.
