Jets tried to trade for Betts

This was known a while ago that we discussed a Betts trade.... like before we got Barlow.

 

I think they were referring to recently, probably like yesterday or the day before.

Call him what you want, but any RB that is projected to rush for 1964 yards (if started) and to catch over 50 passes, while being an excellent pass blocker, is worth a lot more than the 25th pick LOL. If you didn't know who he was and I were to ask if you think this guy is a stud, then you would say "Yes, he's as good as Larry Johnson."

No, because Portis is better. We wouldn't care if Betts was projected to run for 3000. Portis would still be our RB. He doesn't fumble with 1 minute left in the 4th quarter.

 

Off-topic, but what is a 1st and 3rd round tender? It was in the article relating to Michael Turner

 

If someone else signs the him (Turner), the Chargers get their first and third rounder.

The lowest gives you nothing if an opposing team signs them, but the original team can match the contract in order to keep the player (player must sign with the team that drafted him if they match the money offered).The second gives you the draft value of the player if an opposing team signs him, and if you match the contract you get to keep the player. (IE if the player was a 2nd round pick, the signing team must give up a 2nd round pick to sign him, a 5th for a 5th, etc.)The third gives you a first round pick from the team that signs him, and as always the right to match to contract and keep the player.The fourth, and highest, gives you the first and 3rd round picks of the team that signs him, and the right to match the contract to keep him.Oh, and just because someone knows more than you, doesn't mean they are a nerd.
