With players like Tedi Bruschi and Rodney Harrison aging, Asante Samuel only under contract for one more year, the Belicheck retirement talk growing. They realize their time is just about up and are making one final push for it all. I can't wait to see them fall flat on their face. :whistling:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Donte' Stallworth-WR- Patriots Mar. 12 - 1:08 pm et Agent Drew Rosenhaus called Donte' Stallworth's contract in New England a one-year deal. We're posting this for anyone who that thinks New England could consider paying Stallworth $9.6 million in bonuses in 2008. Rosenhaus said that since Stallworth was ultimately signing for one year, he chose New England over Miami because of Tom Brady's presence. Donte' Stallworth-WR- Patriots Mar. 11 - 1:02 pm et Donte' Stallworth's contract is essentially a one-year, $3.6 million contract with a series of option bonuses for New England. The Patriots would have to pay a $6 million option to keep Stallworth next February 25, then another $2 million on March 1. He will have to play extremely well for the Patriots to consider paying that in full. His second-year total pay would be $11 million under this contract, with $5 million in 2009, and $4.5 million per season in 2010-2012. Most likely, the Patriots and Stallworth will revisit the situation in February 2008. Kelley Washington-WR- Patriots Mar. 12 - 2:21 pm et Patriots agreed to terms with WR Kelley Washington on a five-year contract. The deal includes a $300,000 signing bonus, a maximum value of $22 million, and a $4 million option bonus payable in 2008.Another one-year deal. The 6-3 Washington adds size to an otherwise smallish receiving corps and could be useful a red-zone target. He'll make it harder for Jabar Gaffney to make the club in 2007. Also, it seems like the Pats aren't planning on having Chad Jackson (knee) healthy by the season.</div>Both the deals are essentially one year deals because of the high Roster Bonus for Year 2 that they will be cut before they ever see it. Definately loading up for one final run at the ring.
