1. Why did the vikings pick Meachem at 12 instead of Ginn?2. Why did the vikings get Drew stanton when Childress said we will be going with Tarvaris and brooks battling for the starting role next year?

He bigger than Ginn, runs better routes, and is nearly as fast.Well looks like a 3 way battle at QB now. Why not add a QB with Stantons potential. Reguardless of what childress said, the QB pos. has alot of questions. This is an insurance pick, they add a second with the BUF trade and spend it to move up here.
I hate projecting trades because 9 times out of 10 they don't happen so you're wasting your time. But I do have a problem with the idea of the Jets drafting Greg Olsen when we already have a Decent Tight End in Chris Baker over bigger needs at RG, RT, 3-4 DE, 3-4 Pass Rushing OLB, and CB. The only problem with Chris Baker is that he isn't used enough as a recieveing threat. The Jets could use a backup Tight End for some 2 TE sets, but that would be acquired in the mid rounds, not on Round 1.

The Patriots trading up with Washington has been speculated all over the place, and it makes sence for both teams. Perhaps this explains the Pats being so active in FA. The Skins don't have another pick until the 5th. If anyone needs to trade down it's them. In this scenario I could also see them trading the second first round pick and moving down to take Charles Johnson to help the DL. The Vikings #1 need is WR, but anyone at #7 other than Calvin Johnson is a reach. The Bills would certainly love a shot at Peterson. The Lions get Adams and add some mush needed picks, and the Cards get Thomas. We all know there will be several first found trades.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Brooksie5 @ Mar 21 2007, 11:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>The Rams would take Jamaal Anderson over Ginn anyday. I'm pretty sure they're set at WR.</div>What do the 49ers, Cardinals, and Seahawks all lack? Depth in the secondary. What better way to exploit their division foes than to put a guy like Ted Ginn in the Slot. They would have a great 4 wide package and a distinct advantage over divisional opponents defenses. Also Devin Hester last year showed how valuble a reliable playmaker in the return game can be. They say defense wins championships, but the Colts showed offense can win championships too, and the Rams would have a very strong offense. Marc Bulger, Stephen Jackson, Torry Holt, Issac Bruce, Drew Bennett, and Joel Klopfenstein would equal a lot of points on the board. Taking Ginn also begins preparation for when Bruce decides to call it a career.
im not trying to be bias here AT ALL, but I think if the Lions end up trading their pick, it's going to the 49ers. They said they'd like to trade down to about #10 in the draft and receive more draft picks for depth, and thats exactly what the 49ers have, and then the 49ers will draft calvin johnson.

I could see the Lions trading back 3 times and adding 3 second round picks.Look at this scenario...1. Raiders - JaMarcus Russell2. Browns - Brady Quinn (Browns get #2 and 4th Round Pick/Lions get #3 and #36)3. Arizona - Joe Thomas (Cardinals get #3/Lions get #5 and #38) Lions state they will take Thomas unless Arizona can make them a deal.4. Buccaneers - Calvin Johnson5. Vikings - Gaines Adams (Vikings get #5/Lions get #7 and #72) Vikings want Adams and so does Washington6. Redskins - Alan Branch7. Bills - Adrian Peterson (Bills get #7, 5th, 6th/Lions get #12, #43, 4th) Bills want Peterson and need to move ahead of ATL.8. Texans - LaRon Landry9. Dolphins - Levi Brown10. Falcons - Jamal Anderson11. 49ers - Patrick Willis12. Lions - Leon Hall Lions end up with...#12#34#36#38#43#66#724th7th

With the Bills/Vikings one, while Peterson is nice, they're also going to have Marshawn Lynch fall right into their laps, and have plenty of holes on defense to fill with the losses of Fletcher, Clements, and possibly soon to be Spikes. Once again, too many holes that a trade up would be kinda stupid for them and wouldn't make much sense. The only one that makes sense to me is the Lions and Cardinals swap for Joe Thomas. Although I have to Wonder if Joe Thomas is the kind of lineman that Ken Wisenhunt is looking for. To me I think he want's more of a Road Grader Line with a Nasty Mean Streak. Much like his Pittsburgh one was, not a Finesse Lineman like Thomas.

That's a pretty damn good offense already if you ask me. And Bruce may retire after this year, in which we just move Bennett up to number 2, and get someone else for the slot. We need defense a lot more than a #4 WR who has done nothing since getting hurt in the Nat'l Championship game.
