I had an idea last night about my band. We're having trouble coming up with a good catchy looking logo and I need the help of some graphics people on here. I want something that will catch the eye and represent our band but isn't too complicated. So i want to make this a little contest. Who can come up with the best band logo for my band. The band is called Revelation at Hand and it MUST SAY revelation at hand on the logo. I'll tell you a little bit about the band so that people can get an image. We're a progressive metal band from Raleigh NC. the recording process is going slow so you won't be able to hear any music as of now. I play lead guitar in the band and also sing backup vocals. so please anyone who's willing to do this help out. If your logo wins we'll be using it on our myspace page, official band page, T-shirts, etc and i may contact you further to design the myspace page and band page around the logo which will involve pay.

I suck with logos, but I could try it out. What size do you want it to be?

Doesn't matter. Small enough to be a noticable logo as a myspace picture but big enough to be able to look good on t-shirts. Like a logo that can be easily resized. Just see what you come up with. Thanks for trying this out bro.

If I listened to rock music I would help you out. I couldn't for the life of me tell you what "progressive metal" is lol.

Progressive metal is like a mix between progressive rock and metal/metalcore. It's hard to find a progressive metal band because it's pretty much a genre for unclassified music. For instance, tool is listed as progressive metal. Our band is a little different from prog. metal but that's as close as i can get. We're fast paced with little to no screaming at all, cutting guitar riffs.. I don't know if you can get your mind around that. What I just said probably makes no sense to rap fans but its all good. Think Bullet for My Valentine or Atreyu minus the screaming but mixed with Avenged Sevenfold and System of a Down influences.

[IMG]Here's what I came up with. Please tell me what you think.. I want this to be attractive to the normal person's eye but still kind of grungy and like a metal/rock band. Below is what I came up with for our EP. I picked the name "Vexed to Nightmare" But we'll probably change it when we actually release the EP. Please FEEDBACK! [IMG]

It looks decent, for a relatively simple idea. A bit of a Rock Band feel to it, easy to read. I would have just gone for something a little more complex. With the word 'Hand' in the name theres all kinds of ideas you can try, an outline of a hand, a fingerprint, something you can try to incorportate into the logo.

Good ideas. I was thinking of putting a hand sillouette underneath one of the words but I didn't think of fingerprints. I'll try the fingerprints later and see how it goes. Red fingerprints?
