Great WR corps. Good QB. And Good RB's. The offense would be off the chains against any other team without Free Agents like this. The only true weak point on defense is at CB.
I agree, but this is an obviously unrealistic figure. The Cap wouldn't allow all these players on the team at once lol. But they are some solid, solid drafters. If only the Falcons knew how to draft Wide-Outs.
The Jets have drafted well as of late, ever since Parcells took over really as he's the one who really turned this team around, Parcells gets a bad rep for his drafts considering how much the Jets gave the Patriots in return for Parcells and his coaching staff, and Curtis Martin. He hardly had any draft picks to work with while he was here, and built the team almost entirely through Free Agency. The bad drafts were back in the 80's and the Early 90's which gave the Jets a bad reputation when it comes to the draft. See - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZxNeFLuY98As for the team, Offense would be sweet in the skill positions with RBs of Jordan, Washington WRs of Coles, Moss, Cotchery, Johnson and TEs of Baker, Becht (Blocking) plus a great Offensive Line. Love the Front 7 potential on that Defense, it'd be 2004 all over again, except this time with Thomas over Barton. The Cornerbacks would suck, plus you'd want to go all the way back to like Aaron Glenn as I'd take him over Coleman or Miller as a Cornerback. Otherwise it's a pretty good team. I tend to think they'd almost have to be a Base 4-3 with the FEAR line intact though.

I'd tend to think that the Jets could fit that under the cap. 7 Starters on the Defense would still be on their Rookie Contracts, although Robertson is on one expensive Rookie Contract. Coles and Cotchery are both on very reasonable deals for this market. And with the way the cap has gone up in recent years I think we could afford them all under a cap. Now granted, at the time the Jets were bogged down with overpriced Contracts so some tough choices had to be made (And naturally Herm Edwards favored the veteran, like always.), but with proper planning for a long-term winner, I don't necessairily think it's too farfetched.
Yeah, it is a possibility but with all those high caliber players I don't see it really happening with Chemestry.Surprising enough I did some digging and found some solid draft picks by the Falcons. Mike Vick, Alge Crumpler, D-Hall, Patrick Kerney, Keith Brooking, and Warrick Dunn

It was more of... the reason the Steel Curtain Steelers were so good is that there was no free agency. If the same rules applied nowadays as applied back then, and we could simply keep all the talent we drafted without cap concerns, we'd be a damn fine team. Especially on the O-line. We'd probably have the best O-line in the NFL. I challenge anyone here to come up with a team, using only that team's draft picks, that would be better than the Jets would be using the old-school NFL rules.
No one has the time to do that...I still love how you guys drafted a TE like 3 or 4 years in a row and they all suck. Then you got a kicker in the 3rd.

Yeah, I agree. No one has the time to see who had the best overall draft. What matters is not even half of those players play for the Jets now. So in a sense, the Jets know how to draft, but they just don't know how to keep them.

Mangini extended Cotchery and Thomas before they ever had a chance to hit Free Agency and Bill Parcells only lost one player on that list in Keyshawn Johnson, and for him he managed to get 2 First Rounders in Return. BTW, Now that I'm thinking about it. No James Farrior on that list? Especially in a 3-4 Base D.
