Ponson showed all his sides today. Giving up 5 runs in two innings, then throwing 3 scoreless (1 hit) innings, then allowing 3 runs in the 6th. He sucked, was great, and sucked again all in one game. And A-Rod has hit his 5th Home Run of the season, with his 2 run shot in the 6th to knock Ponson out of the game, btw.Pavano is shutting down the Twins, score currently 8-1 in the 7th.
this is pavano at his best. if he can consistently give us 6 innings (he gave us 7 tonight) of 2 run ball, ill take that 10 times out of 10

We need Wang back and Moose & Pettitte to pitch better than their first times out though.

He is the first Yankee ever to hit 5 home runs in 6 games. Not Ruth, no one, has done 5 in 6 in Yankee history.
big deal. A-Rod will have that slump, get an earful, he'll choke in the post-season, and he'll use his escape clause

I wouldn't expect all his starts to be that good though.

He is far from the worst closer right now, also certaintly not the best, but at least middle of the pack.

BTW, according to Baseball Tonight, A-Rod is the first player ever to hit 6 home runs in his first 7 games in MLB History.
Yo, Vilma. Is your name "Jon_Vilma" or "Jon Vilma"??? I always thought it had the underscore, but now that I look at it.. the whole name is underlined, so there's really no way to tell.
