I get a lot of problems falling asleep, and I usually can't go to sleep because I'm never sleepy enough. Then I wake up with only 6 hours of sleep, and I feel like shit and I still have to go to school. I also want to have at least 8 - 9 hours of sleep, because I was growing like crazy last year, and now, I stopped growing because of the amount of time I get to sleep. Does anyone know of any suggestions? Thanks.

I usually go to bed at 11-12 and wake up a little before 7. That's plenty of sleep for me, especially because I'm nearly 6'5 and I don't want to grow anymore.Do you like milk? Drink 2 glasses of milk like 15 minutes before you go to bed, turn on some kind of light, music, or distraction, and fall asleep. That's what I used to do.

I use a few methods to get to sleep. 1. Something some people don't know about- Relax your tongue. Yes, your tongue. Your tongue is connected to the speech part of your brain and if you relax it (try to imagine it's floating in space or something) it shuts down a whole part of processing in your brain. It really helps.2. Try meditating. Think of a place you really love or enjoy and put yourself in that place. Also try relaxing every muscle and ache in your body and concentrate on each part seperately. It really helps. 3. Let your mind wander wherever it wants to go but DO NOT worry about anything EVER. If you have a worry that you just cannot get out of your head and it's something that can be fixed, get up and fix it. If not, don't worry about it and imagine what it would be like without the worry.4. Think of something you're passionate about or something you love to do. For instance, I love guitar and I play in a hard rock/ heavy metal band. Sometimes I imagine myself in front of thousands of screaming fans shredding on my guitar. 5. if the above techniques are failing, buy a relaxing medetative CD or something that is designed to help you sleep or relax.6. If you just can not get to sleep whatsoever you heave insomnia and you need to see a doctor.Oh and don't drink caffeinated beverages during the day at all regardless of circumstances if you're really having trouble. It can make you crash and mess up your sleep cycle completely if you drink it early in the day. If you drink it at night, you risk getting all hyped up and not being able to relax.

I get like three hours of sleep per night. Is it enough? Fuck no.. I need like 7, but I can't help it. Shit happens.

That is actually an approach to getting more sleep Brooksie. The "shit happens" approach and just not caring and sitting in bed will eventually get you to sleep. MLibid- Another method I forgot to mention is to relax yourself before you are ready to go to sleep. I have a radio next to my bed with Sports Radio on it constantly. I'll listen to some JT The Brick on FSR for about half an hour and look at forums, news and chat with friends on my laptop. If I don't have my laptop with me I'll read the sports section or a sports illustrated or something like that. after about half an hour of that (11:30-12) I'll turn off the light and the radio, put everything away, and roll over.

I have the same problem as MLiBid. I get my sleep back with mid-day naps. Sometimes, when I know I'm gonna be able to go to sleep early the next day, I purposely sleep little the day before, so that I can get good sleep the next night

For example, I imagine that I'm a 7'2" with insane stature who plays tight end for the Jets, center for the Knicks, and throws a 130 MPH fastball for the Yankees.

I'm pretty much an insomniac, especially when I get stressed out.

be physical during teh day. if u spend the whole day sitting around, yu will have energy left over. when you work out, you produce chemicals, one of which is a chemical which then stimulates the production of another chemical that induces sleep. hence: physical work = more, better sleep
