Personally, i'm extremely excited about the Vikings first day. Adrian Peterson was a great pick at #7. He will probably come in and play a Reggie Bush type role right away and take some of the load off of Chester Taylor's shoulders. Still there are injury concerns... so i give this an A- Sidney Rice could be starting quality but it remains to be seen. He's extremely raw but the type of receiver we need. A fast guy who can be a red zone threat and has the potential to be the next great guy with good coaching. We were also able to pick him up while gaining another pick in the 4th round. B+ Marcus McCauley. He was first round talent IMO and to be able to snag him in round 3 was awesome. He has 4.3-4.4 speed and fills a need a nickelback. A+So overall I give the first day an A- We have 3 guys that could make an immediate impact AND be great players down the road. Great picks by the vikings front office. If there's one thing this coaching staff and management is doing well, it's drafting.

Rams. Someone else can rate them after their third round pick. I don't know what to give them.

I think that the Steelers could've done a little better, but overall I'm happy with the draft so far.I'd give the Lawrence Timmons pick a B+.He has all the talent in the world and he'll definatley be an impact player, but I think that we have more needs in the defensive backfield than at LB.B+ for Lamar Woodley also.I think drafting him would've been a lot more valuable if they didn't draft Timmons in the 1st. He had a great career and if he didn't get Timmons I could possibly see him starting at ROLB.Matt Spaeth(I think thats his name, lol)I cant really grade him as a player because to be honest I've never heard of him, but backup tight end is a need for us. I never expect him to start unless something happens to Heath Miller, and he wont get a lot of touches because the Steelers never use thier TEs in the passing game.

2nd overall (Rd 1) - Calvin Johnson 6-4 235 WR Georgia Tech: Grade - ANot a huge need for a WR, but definitley a helper for Kitna. If Stanton takes over in the season at all, it will definitley be a plus to be hitting up CJ and Roy.43rd overall (Rd 2 pick 11) - Drew Stanton 6-3 230 QB Michigan St: Grade - B+Always been a fan of Drew, although I may be a Michigan fan, he's looked impressive. He's the pick I was hoping for and probably could take away Kitna's starting job by the end of the year. It always helps now that McCown is gone as well.58 overall (Rd 2 pick 26) - Ikaika Alama-Francis 6-6 215 DT Hawaii: Grade - CComes off a shoulder injury in the Hula Bowl. Not a great spot for him at DT, more speedy kind of guy. Could be moved to DE for us, but doesn't seem a tight fit if he stays a DT. He's too thin at around 250 to be a DT anyway.61 overall (Rd 2 pick 29) - Gerald Alexander 6-0 204 CB Boise St: Grade - D Worst possible pick they could have taken. Projected to be a late 2nd day pick. Do not know much about him, but looked through notes and such about him, seems like more of a FS in the NFL. Seems only like a nickel back if he does play corner and has apparently shown ability to make plays on the ball, cover good in zone, and able to read routes enough to get by. Seems he can't get off blocks though, maybe his biggest problem. Overall day 1: A skeptical B-

Surprised they took Lynch that early, thought they could have traded down 3 spots or so for him and get an extra 3rd rder or 4th with it. Each of those players has a role as a starter maybe already.

I'm waiting for Dolphins and Eagles fans :lol:As for the Redskins, unfortunately we only had 1 pick. But it was the right one. If I were to grade that pick, it would be A+, but if I were to grade our draft in general, it would be a C or a D.

lol... No, I just posed as one to see what it was like. Don't ask me why, but I've always been a Detroit fan. Also, Michigan fan, so... naturally like Michigan teams. Cept for in the NHL.

He could play DT probably.

How come the Lions only had 3 picks in 3 rounds? Didn't they trade down to acquire more picks?

New York Jets14th Overall - Darrelle Revis - CB - PittsburghI was happy with the trade up, the Jets got the best Cornerback in the Draft in my eyes. Also can return punts which is a plus since Miller is just a one dimensional return star. Filled a major need on the Jets right now.2nd Round - David Harris - ILB - MichiganThis trade up suprised me, but the guy was one of the best Inside Linebackers for a 3-4 based team in this draft. Harris brings a nasty streak of hard hits to the Jets Defense and is a welcomed member to the Jets. Overall Grade - BI'm very happy with both of the players we got, but the reason it is a B is because those trades have left the Jets with only 4 picks in this entire NFL Draft and I feel the Jets should have more picks, look for the Jets to shop Justin McCareins, Eric Barton, and David Barrett for some Day 2 draft picks.

Patrick Willis - Best LB in the Draft that is also a very good leader and won the Butkus Award in 06. Mike Singletary and Nolan fell in love with his work ethic and how much he wanted to learn at the Senior Bowl, as well as his great game. Will lead Mike Nolan's defense for years to come and will be one of the best at his position in the league.28. Joe Staley - A pretty raw Tackle whose size, speed, and explosiveness give him very high potential. Needs some work on his technique and will add 10-15 pounds but once he figures it out he will be a monster. 76. Jason Hill - Prolific Pac-10 WR who is from San Francisco who is extremely motivated. Is compared to Reggie Wayne due to his physical style of play. Also has good speed and is great runnin after the catch.97. Ray McDonald - A DE/DT tweener at Florida he really made a name for himself in his senior season since he was healthy. Is stout at the point and is pretty athletic for his size, should be molded into Bryant Young's successor.A+I don't know how Nolan and McCloughan could've done better, I absolutely love this Draft so far.

<span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%">Kansas City Chiefs - Day One Draft</span>First Round - 23rd OverallDwayne Bowe - WR - LSU Tigers[IMG]<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Bowe has very good size with a solid frame and a vast wingspan...Excellent leaper with good body control and ball skills...Great natural athlete...Has big, strong hands...A long-strider who plays faster than he times...Is an excellent blocker...Physical and runs pretty well after the catch...Tough and is not afraid of contact...A force in the red zone who has made a lot of big plays during his career...A leader with solid intangibles...He has only touched the tip of the iceberg in terms of his potential.</div>I really like this pick, probably our biggest need overall was a good wide out. I think he will fit in great in our offense. He's got great size for a wide receiver, should be hard for smaller corners to bring him down, and he should overpower most. Great pick for us. Grade: ASecond Round - 54th OverallTurk McBride - DT/DE - Tennessee Volunteers [IMG]<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Has a decent frame and could still add some bulk...Is very quick off the snap...Has an excellent motor...Mobile with good range...Gets good penetration...Strong and powerful...A very good athlete...Does a tremendous job in pursuit...Superb initial punch...Versatile and can play many roles in a number of schemes....A big upside.</div>This pick kinda caught me off guard, and I think he might have been a reach. He appears to be undersized, but has a lot of speed for a DT/DE. They said they same thing about Tamba Hali last year though. I think we filled another need with McBride, not a bad pick in my opinion. Grade: C- Third Round - 79th OverallDeMarcus Tyler - DT - N.C. State[IMG]<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Played on the same defensive line that produced three 2006 first round picks (Mario Williams, Manny Lawson and John McCargo)...Three-year starter with a lot of experience...Has excellent size...A good athlete with great quickness...Very strong and powerful...Is stout at the point of attack and can hold his ground...Will deliver a blow and drive blockers backward...Able to penetrate and disrupt the action in the backfield...Pursues and chases when he's not tired...Disengages from blocks well...Still improving & had his best year in '06.</div>I actually liked this pick more than our second rounder in Turk McBride. Surprising to see him fall all the way to the third round, I suppose that's why we took him, he was the best player available and Herm felt that we still needed to defensive line fortification. Can't disagree with the pick. Grade: B-OVERALL DAY ONE GRADE: B We filled a major need at WR with the addition of Dwayne Bowe, and added major depth on the defensive line. I'm fairly please with the way we drafted on day one, but we still failed to bolster our offensive line. :whistling:
