We bring in Fred Smoot, who was really good in Washington, and David Macklin, a starter (who is 4th on our depth chart).

Macklin sucks, and Smoot has done absolutely shit since he had the 1 decent season. Yep, amazing moves.

For the record, smoot still blows. He has sucked since getting burned by steve smith.

Fred Smoot was really awesome all four years in Washington, and David Macklin was always a solid starter and a great tackler (so he would fit in Gregg Williams's schemes)

I do agree that our draft wasn't exactly the greatest, but I think 2.1 is a little harsh. We addressed two MAJOR needs(A wideout and two run stoppers). Apparently Herm likes our O-Line? We signed McIntosh from Miami at LT, but we still have questions at RT and RG still.

You care about one dumb place where he had been. He moved to a great run defense which should put a tiny bit more pressure on him, but he was a fucking 2nd CB. He looked like a dime package corner when he played. He never had a great season in Washington, he had a good at best.As for Macklin... he's never been on a team with good defense, so of course he looks solid. He's only been with the Colts and Cardinals in his career, none of which ever had a good pass defense, and still don't. Tell me how he helped Arizona last year? Was it his 34 tackles and 1 INT?

Dude, don't even try to argue Smoot wasn't great in Washington.

I'm not trying to, but you insist he was. He never had a great season, never will. He should be a nickel guy at best in his career. I'll admit he had 1 or 2 good seasons, but never a great season.

He can't tackle worth shit and plays too far off of his man. Then he gets lost in zone coverages. He got beat out by Cedric Griffin and Devonte Edwards in seperate parts of two different years with two different coaches. He played with a double sided dildo on a boat with hookers. If that's not character problems, I don't know what is. Everything about him is bad... He was decent a couple of years ago and he got the huge contract because he showed the potential to be great. He's better suited to be a nickelback.

I wouldn't go as far as saying Smoot was "awesome" in Washington, but he was more productive than his days in Minnesota. I think he is an average corner at best, but he didn't appear to fit in with Minnesota very well.

Yeah exactly... he looked very average in Minnesota. It was a total different scheme.

It was a total different scheme.</div>If you are a good player you can fit your skillset to any scheme. We played the 4-3 and some 3-4 defense with base man coverage when smoot was here the first year. He sucked even worse. Then we switched to the Cover 2 with base zone and he was just as bad (plus he appeared to have gotten worse in his open field tackling skills and was lucky that he had Antoine Winfield to cover his ass in that aspect of the game). Other players made the scheme switch just fine. I will give him the benifit of the doubt in the fact that Ted Cotrell is pretty much the worst defensive coordinator to ever walk the earth but he still shouldn't have been as bad as he was and should have improved under Mike Tomlin. If you gradually get WORSE in your game at a young age, only bad things can come. Again. Cedric Griffin, Devonte Edwards and Brian Williams beat him out at seperate times in seperate years with seperate coaches respectively. In my mind, he's not as good as any of the above players.

I was searching for that video last night but couldn't find it.. figured it got pulled off of youtube with the crazy NFL trying to get rid of copyrighted videos. Anyways.. that was just one game worth of that crap. I had to endure that all year for the past two seasons. If he knew how to cover or receiver or make a basic open field tackle, alot of those passes would have been short gains. There was also a TD Pass in that game that he got burned on and fell down.

He isn't any more. That's like showing me a randy moss video from 4 years ago and trying to tell me that he would be the same playmaker if he went back to the vikings this year. Some players lose a step and Smoot is one of them.

If Culpepper was still the same Pepper he was in Minnesota, and they had the same team, then yes, Moss would be just as good.

You don't have an argument so you're trying to argue against my example? The redskins dont have the same team... They don't have champ bailey either which would by synonymous with culpepper in minnesota.

The first 2 INT's are right to him. The 1st was catchable for any retard that could reach up, and the other was deflected up in the air. I could have got both of them. I stopped watching after those 2 because apparently Redskin fans think that was a good player.
