<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>May 3 - Carlos Zambrano still doesn't have a contract extension from the Cubs, and no agreement appears imminent, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.Instead, the 25-year-old right-hander remains the most attractive pitcher facing potential free agency next offseason. At this point, it's more likely Zambrano will call off negotiations than announce a new deal.</div>YANKEES!!!!

I wish the Orioles had a legit shot at him.We might if we throw like 200 million at him.

The Tribune company probably doesn't want to rock the boat by adding a 100+ Million dollar investment, and who knows what the new owners will want to do.

Any competant owner knows how important Z is, and frankly, I would think that they would want the Cubs to lock Z now
