Bengals release Sam Adams

    I wouldn't mind the Jets taking the look at the guy if he'd be interested in a Vet Minimum Backup/Mentor role. Too old to be anything else IMO.

    Havent seen him play much, does he play with good leverage? His size indicates he would be a nice rotationial NT in the 3-4.

His size indicates he would be a nice rotationial NT in the 3-4.</div>I don't remember him ever playing in the 3-4, but in his prime he was a damn good Defensive Tackle capable of shutting down the run who had great size, so one would think he would have made a great 3-4 Nose Tackle. At this point I think he'd be best suited for a rotational role, although it wouldn't suprise me if he got an offer to start somewhere based on his name.

    He's probably the quickest DT in the NFL even at his age. I'm not talking speed, he's pretty slow, but his ability to get off the line is unchallenged by anyone. He'd probably be a very good NT.

    Sam Adams can still play. He can only do like 1-2 downs per 4 downs. But when he's int here he was a disruptor. I know he basically single handedly stopped Jamal Lewis in one game by plugging the holes and getting into the backfield and squishing Jamal.

Problem he gets tired now when he has to play all 3 downs.
