If anyone isn't watching Yankees-Mets right now, Matsui hit a flair into center with Jeter on 2nd. It looked like Beltran had a chance to catch it. It really looked like he would get it. So Jeter went back to the base but it bounced off Beltran's glove. So the brilliant guys they got at ESPN commentating the game said that Jeter should have ran.So they attack Jeter for doing the smart play? Wow

Ehh, I think technically Jeter should have stopped halfway between first and second there and wait to see, but it appeared like Beltran was going to come down with it. I still wouldn't rip Jeter for that play though.

they werent criticizing jeter. they said he was a good baserunner, but that thats an extremely hard play to read. he did the right thing in that there was 1 out, so you play it safe and be careful. jeter just hit a 2 run homerun, 4-1 yankees

I think base runners should just run no matter what the situation. Just take off on all pop flies.
