It's not his teammates fault that Kobe takes more than 25% more attempts than Dirk. More than 100 attempts than LeBron. And the Lakers went 3-2 without Kobe because they can play just as well as a team without Kobe.

Theres also Jason Terry, Josh Howard, Jerry Stackhouse, and Devin Harris, so naturally his shot attempts will be lower than Bryants. And with LeBron, it's not as much, but even he has a better supporting cast.Who else would you want shooting the ball for the Lakers? Odom? He's probably their best second option, but he is way to inconsistent. Parker? Walton? Evans? Vujacic? No way.And are you telling me the Lakers could make the playoffs without Kobe? They had a nice win against Phoenix without Bryant (although Amare played just 11 minutes that game) but then they went and lost to the Knicks. Without Kobe they'd be lucky to reach 30 wins.

When he scores 34+ their record is great. When he has 10+ assists it's not. Kobe has to carry the team. And the Knicks had a better record without Ewing in the playoffs then they did with him (during the Ewing era), does that mean they should have benched a top 10 center of all time? No, because a few games are no way to judge a team without a player.

The last 2 posts explain everything there is to be explained about this arguement. I really can't see a way to respond to them.

I don't know what the argument is about but I'll say one thing; Kobe is the best basketball player of all time, but he's the worst team player out of all the superstars today.

Bill Simmons, btw, agreed with me that none of the deals he offered were matching the value of Kobe.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>While we're here, my ESPN colleague Colin Cowherd mocked my seven trade scenarios for Kobe on the radio last week without reading the entire column or even attempting to understand its premise, namely, that the trade options for Kobe were limited because (A) he needed to go to a big market for a team that could contend right away, and ([IMG] nobody pays 100 cents on the dollar for a team looking to unload an unhappy superstar.</div>Which is what I was saying. Kobe's value is high, and no one will offer his WORTH.
