I fully expect Trent Green to start for the Dolphins now. How effective he can still be at his age is a whole 'nother question though. He wasn't all that impressive when healthy last year.

And he'll definitely be their starter.
Not at all. I cannot see how you can stick the words top 10 in the league, with the name Trent Green. Sure, a few years back he could do something. Now you throw him with arguably the greatest tight end in the last decade, and remove him to shove him in with some half ass guys. How does that even out? He obviously will be the starter for them seeing as they have no QB to begin with. You don't start a rookie that could possibly be considered a reach where he was taken, you don't start Cleo Lemon for obvious reasons, and you don't start a QB with no legs to run anymore. He's obviously the choice to go with, for now.

Please get Ben Roethlisberger out of that list. He is no where near Top 10. You can make cases for Favre and Pennington imo

He dominated his first two years in the league, and I think there was little question he would have done the same in 06 had it not been for the injures. Look at Hasselbeck, you had no problem with him on the list, but last year when he was injured, his numbers were fairly similar to Ben's, and minus the INT's, in many ways were not as good.
Ben Roethlisberger is the most overrated QB in NFL history. He was a product of a good running team and a great defense. Thats why they won the Superbowl, not because of Big Ben. He's been known for choking in big games ( Worst rating in SB History) and a horrible game Vs. The Pats in his first year. He was just a product of playaction and stupid trick plays. He only has 52 Td's and a whopping 43 int's. Last year he was healthy and what did he do? 18/23 for the year. Please don't mention him with the Elite in the NFL.Matt played in 4 less games and most of them without the MVP of the league from a year ago.

Even though he only missed one start, it was obvious he was never really fully healthy at any point during the season. But he's healthy now, and with new offensive coordinator Bruce Arians wanting to throw more, and run less, Roethlisberger should bounce back and have a big year.
That's completely irrevelent to the fact that Big Ben shouldnt be mentioned with the Elite QB's in the NFL. He can Bounce back from injuries but not from Success.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>That's completely irrevelent to the fact that Big Ben shouldnt be mentioned with the Elite QB's in the NFL. Don't put too much on 2006, he was never really fully healthy. And I don't buy into the whole "he's a product of the system argument", it's bogus.

He threw 10 times a game mostly off PA and then handed it to his good RB's. Bottom Line: His numbers were never up there with the best, I bet you thought Rex Grossman was the next Marino last season.

You really think he was anywheres near close to 100% when he came back from an Appendicitis (An Injury normally with a 4-6 week timetable) in 2 weeks, not to mention the Knee Injuries suffered in the Motorcycle Accident that severly cut down on his mobility. Big Ben also had a significantly worse Offensive Line production as he was sacked 46 times (as opposed to 23 times in 2006). Once he started getting healthy over the second half of the season the Steelers won 6 of their last 8 games. When healthy, he is a Top 10 Quarterback. And You'll see that this year IMO. Trent Green really fell off last year. His Yards Per Attempt dropped by a full yard from 7.9 to 6.8, He threw a rather unimpressive 7 touchdowns to 9 Interceptions. His QB Rating dropped by 16 points from 90.1 to 74.1. It wasn't even the change in Offense either as Damon Huard just completely outplayed Green. He's on the downside of his career and I don't think that he's the Quarterback that he once was. I'd take anywheres from 15-20 Quarterbacks over him right now at least.
Dont give me the Injury as an excuse. Brees came back from a Shoulder Injury, McNabb from a Hernia, Favre from everything, Carson from torn ACL, etc. Ben isn't the only QB in history to play while hurt. It seems like you guys throw out excuses but in the end Big Ben isn't Elite. When it's on paper, then you guys can put em up there.

He had about 9 months to Recover, he was admittingly 100% by the time the season began. Palmer was injured in Early January and was expected to be perfectly healthy by the time the 2006 Season Came around. He had about 9 months to Recover and did so just in time for the regular season.Roethlisberger had an Appendicitis with a 4-6 week timetable in Late August, took only 2 weeks to Recover before rushing back onto the field in Week 2 when he was clearly not close to healthy. If you'll remember there was a huge debate at the time if Charlie Batch should continue to start because Roethlisberger wasn't close to healthy. You're comparing Apples to Oranges.
So you're saying Big Ben is Top 10 because he came back from a serious injury 4 weeks earlier? Even if we do take out last year, His numbers aren't Top 10 Numbers. Never over 3,000 yards and never over 20 td's thrown or less than 10 int's thrown.
