Re: Colin Cowherd asks "Why is A-Rod a non-story?" <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (AdropOFvenom @ Jun 9 2007, 02:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Alex Rodriguez - Yankees fans Boo him, Struggles Covered and Whored Out by National MediaAlbert Pujols - St Louis fans don't Boo him, Struggles Mentioned, but not whored out by National Media</div>Because they don't realize they'd be nowhere near as good as they are without him. They see a guy who strikes out an average amount of times in a year, hits about average in HR's, with above-average BA, and among top in RBI's. Still they boo him because he's the easiest one to blame when they lose, he's supposed to be godly. The reason for this... because they thought he was god before he got there. This year he is on pace to beat out his HR record as a Yankee, bring in more RBI's than he has in NY already, and pretty much any other stat is improving. So, find me a great explanation as to why this is a coincidence. His numbers grow, but the booing gets louder and more frequent, coincidence?
Re: Colin Cowherd asks "Why is A-Rod a non-story?" ^^I agree with everything but you can't say that the Yankees still wouldn't be considered contenders with the amount of talent they have (including injuries).
Re: Colin Cowherd asks "Why is A-Rod a non-story?" The Yankees have almost no chemistry. They are big name, some overpaid, players that can hit by themselves. They've dropped off tremendously in the past years and it shows being that they are under .500 with A-Rod having arguably his best season's start as a Yankee and a great start for any time in his career.
Re: Colin Cowherd asks "Why is A-Rod a non-story?" oddly enough, the 2 month losing has really brought the team together. They seem to be (after all, we cant really tell that much) much closer. Then again, this is all speculation. the '99-'01 yankees were very serious on the field, didnt seem to be a great chemistry team, but afterwards, in interviews, you could see that thye were superclose.
