So I expect him to be resigned. But I would love the Jets to get their hands on Suggs, if he was ever to hit the market.
I think they'll get it done before the season starts. At least I hope they do. But I can guarantee, he won't be able to hit the market. He will be a Raven.
IMO I think he will be signed soon because he doesn't seem to be the type who will holdout for money. He realizes that he isn't in the category like Julius Peppers or Dwight Freeney and won't be seeing that kind of money soon but then again, he's pretty good for someone his age. And I think he knows how the Ravens organization keeps their important players happy i.e Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Todd Heap, Kelly Gregg, and Jonathan Ogden have gotten extensions that made them at least best paid player for their position or some sort of headlines. Yes, I do realize AD is gone to the Pats but at his age, he is not a high priority and the team needs some players that can go for a while and we must all face it, Ray Lewis is not going to be on the defense after about 3 years and though it seems like he has alot of gas in the tank, father time will catch up to him. BTW, I'm glad they signed all of the rookies before training camp. How exciting is that?
As good as AD was, Ravens had to think about the future, and with Suggs being just 24? It's a no brainer. Others will step up and fill the void collectively(hopefully). At least when some of the older guys are gone, we'll have that young core to build around, like Suggs, Ngata, Landry, and Reed who is still just 28.
Yeah, I'm glad they got the rookies deals done. Faster they get in, faster they can compete and learn. Grubbs needed to get signed because he could have a big part this yr. Gaither too.
And with the injury to Cody, Barnes might be used more than he was going to be
