Happy 231st birthday. Anyone celebrating by blowing up a piece of the country?I'm throwing burgers, sausage, and chicken on the grill, after work

I'm cookin up some half chuck half sirlion ground beef for burgers... throw a little mozzarella, home made bbq sauce, and carameilized onion strings with the beef on a potato bun... can't beat it. I'd usually be having brats or ribs but I wanted something different this year.Just remember when making brats.. always pre-cook your brats in a cheap beer and NEVER poke them, use tongs. Always eat with German potato salad and put bavarian sauerkraut on top.

Why does Bratwurst need to be pre-cooked in beer?

[IMG] Yeah it is a Minnesota-wisconsin-illinois type thing. Most people here in NC don't know what they are lol. anyways...the best brat place in the world is a place called kramarczuks in minneapolis. They have amazing food all around especially their sausages.. Although they've gone a little bit yuppie as of late making wild rice sausages and crap like that. Their simple sausages are downright amazing though.. http://www.kramarczuk.com/

I was going to fire up the grill today with my dad, but I had an argument with him earlier in the day, so I made him do everything himself

It was a canteen regular. And my favorite 4th of July quote:"Don't forget what you're celebrating, and that's the fact that a bunch of slave-owning, aristocratic, white males didn't want to pay their taxes."
