<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Report: Packers Eyeing Larry JohnsonPosted Jul 12th 2007 3:56PM by Michael David SmithThe Green Bay Packers are watching the acrimonious contract negotiations between the Kansas City Chiefs and running back Larry Johnson, and a trade between the teams is possible, according to a Milwaukee TV station. Lance Allan of WTMJ reports that the Packers are keeping a very close eye on the Johnson situation in Kansas City. Johnson says he's prepared for a holdout if the Chiefs don't meet his contract demands, and the Chiefs have indicated that they think he should play out the remaining year on the contract he signed as a rookie. Although Allan refers to the Packers acquiring Johnson as a "long shot," it's not completely unreasonable. The Packers have the kind of salary cap space needed to sign Johnson to a new contract, and they can't feel good about heading into training camp with Vernand Morency, Brandon Jackson and Noah Herron as their running backs.</div>These rumors seem to be heating up by the day, fox sports radio said today that trade talks have started, so maybe its only a matter of time until LJ is in the green and gold

Might be just about the only chance the Packers have at giving Brett Favre the sendoff he deserves (A trip to the Playoffs). Regardless, with the heavy workload Johnson's had the past year I'd be worried about the Long-Term effects on his health. Click Here for Details on why.Buyer Beware, might be damaged goods.

Ever hear of a typo? There very common online. Maybe you should go google it or something. It might help you understand them.</p>

Back on topic ^^ If LJ does sign with the Packers I would be very happy about that. With him in the backfield the offensive line of ours can have a much more enjoyable game and the fans will be extremely happy. Ill keep my eyes open for more stuff about LJ and the Pack.</p>

This is a pipe dream. Totally not Ted Thompson's style... I'd be excited to have LJ in Green Bay, but it will never happen.

The Chiefs would ask for a 1st + a young star player. This will never happen. I could see the Packers going for him if he's a free agent next year but I highly doubt that Ted Thompson would part with multiple picks and a young player like Greg Jennings, James Jones, and I heard the rumor A.J Hawk for Larry Johnson. Don't get your hopes up.

I dont even know what the Packers would trade for him. I wouldnt give up many of those young players, especially if the Chiefs are shopping him because he wants out.
