If Richard Jefferson is traded along with Nenad Krstic for a power forward like Jermaine O'Neal, or for anyonefor that matter, how would Antoine Wright do if he were to step into a starting role. First of all would he start? And what would you expect from him and what do you think he is capable of as a starter?

He's a foul machine. He's better off the bench playing to mismatches.

Possibly, but Wright's a pretty good defender, and Boki is supposed to be the scoring punch off the bench.

Like I said in my other post, Wright will do fine as a starter. I think he's ready. The biggest issue for him is confidence, and after his performance in the playoffs I think he has it. He can be our stopper.

    I think he'd do well.

Boki shouldn't start, we don't need Carter (I know he's under rated)and him at the same time on defense.

Hes much better off the bench.

Wright has all the tools in the world and I'm a big supporter of him starting if RJ is traded. That said, it would be short lived if his jumpshot is still non-existing.

Boki shouldn't start for two reasons: 1) Like Petey said, he gathers up fouls at far too quick a pace and 2) without Boki, we pretty much have no real scoring option off the bench. We don't need anymore offense in the starting lineup with Kidd/Carter/JO/Mags already there.

I think Wright would be perfectly fine in the starting lineup. He seemed a lot more confident last year, especially when handling the ball and finishing near the hoop. He runs the break very well. His D is above average. The only thing that is suspect is his outside jumper.

agreed. the only thing i see wrong with that is that he may be an overrated defender at times

Wow you nailed everything I was going to say right there. We can afford to lose offense from RJ because we're getting it two fold in JO and Magloire.

An additional point to bringing Boki off the bench. Not only would we lose our main socring option off the bench, but as I've said before Marcus would be counted on much more for his scoring ability. This will alter his development long term. We want him to learn under the tutilage of Jason Kidd, but our team would need him to be a Stephon Marbury. Boo!

I'd much rather Wright was starting because Vince was traded than RJ

Having a solid interior defender like JO definitely does wonders for Wright. If he gets beat he knows he has someone behind him willing to pick up the slack. I like the idea

Wright would do fine. He would get a lot of open looks with JO, Kidd, and VC being the focus of the opponent's defense.

    He would probably average around:

    10ppg

    3.5rpg

    2.5apg

    1.5spg
