Much hyped true freshman Jimmy Clausen mightnot begin the seasonas Notre Dame's starting quarterback, but if he is, Charlie Weis won't say before the opener vs. Georgia Tech on Sept. 1. The competition between Clausen, Evan Sharpley, and Demetrius Jones is too close to call.

That's a little suprising to me. I don't know much about Sharpley and Jones, but Clausen is the most hyped incoming freshman Notre Dame player in a long time, you'd assume he'd be the starter.

I didn't think he would start right away, but eventually he would if Sharpley was shaky or something. He's gonna have to earn it. Weis won't hand it to him.

I can't stand this guy and he hasn't even played one snap.

Ryan Mallett to me was the better QB recruit last yr. I came away impressed from what I saw of him.

I heard today on ESPN's College Football Live that he was throwing like Uncle Rico over the weekend in ND's scrimmage. They said he didn't throw a pass longer than 15yards. Apparently he's not recovering as well as Weiss wanted eveyone to believe. I don't feel bad for this kid one bit. Saying they'd win 4 championships with him under center. HA! Gonna be kinda tough sittin on your butt at least half your freshman season. I have a feeling that eventually he'll get in, but only because they'll be doing so poorly as a team that Weiss will end up trying anything to get them better.

Yeah considering he never said they would win 4 championships, way to put words in the kids mouth. He said his goal was to win 4 championships, he never guaranteed we would.
