Rockies ride five-run sixth over Brewers

COLORADO 11, MILWAUKEE 4
DENVER (Ticker) -- Troy Tulowitzki and Ryan Spilborghs helpedcontinue Chris Capuano's miserable stretch.

Tulowitzki homered and Spilborghs hit an RBI double to highlighta five-run sixth inning and Todd Helton blasted two home runsas the Colorado Rockies cruised to an 11-4 victory over theMilwaukee Brewers on Tuesday.

Just when it looked like Capuano (5-9) would notch his first winin three months, it all fell apart for the tough-lucklefthander.

Tulowitzki started the rally by leading off the sixth with asolo home run to center field off Capuano to cut the Brewers'lead to 3-1.

"It seemed like he was throwing his changeup pretty good, but Imade some adjustments," Tulowitzki said. "After that it seemedlike we got some pitches."

Matt Holliday and Helton followed with singles and GarrettAtkins continued his recent hot streak with an RBI single tochase Capuano and cut the deficit to 3-2.

"I don't think they were particularly bad pitches, on the homerun he hit the ball well there," Capuano said.

Carlos Villanueva relieved Capuano and promptly gave up an RBIdouble to Spilborghs to tie the score, 3-3, before Milwaukeeeven recorded an out.

The 27-year-old Spilborghs, who homered twice on Sunday, isbatting .478 (22-for-46) with 35 RBI with runners in scoringposition this year.

After Villanueva issued Brad Hawpe an intentional pass and gotYorvit Torrealba to pop out, Cory Sullivan gave the Rockies a4-3 advantage on an infield single, which kept the bases loaded.

Jamie Carroll's RBI groundout, which scored Spilborghs, cappedthe rally and gave Colorado a 5-3 lead.

The 28-year-old Capuano has lost nine consecutive decisionsdating to May 7 and the Brewers have dropped 14 consecutivegames with him on the mound. He yielded four runs and sevenhits with three walks and three strikeouts over six-plusinnings.

"I'm not happy about it, I'm pissed off," Capuano said. "I'mnot going to put my head down, I'm going to fight and try to winevery time out, what else can I do."

Helton blasted a solo home run in the seventh and added athree-run shot in the eighth for his first multi-homerperformance of the season to give the Rockies an 11-3 lead.

"That's a good win tonight," Helton said. "That's a toughpitcher on the mound and we had three hits through five inningsand to be able to come back and score all those runs was great."

The 33-year-old cleanup hitter, who had not homered in hisprevious 16 games, last hit two blasts in a game on September 2,2005.

Jason Hirsh (5-7) pitched well in his second start since a stinton the disabled list, allowing just three runs and three hitswith two walks.

"I know I didn't have my greatest velocity but I was able to getthe ball down and then the hit attack started so I think itworked out pretty well for us," Hirsh said.

Johnny Estrada, Corey Hart and Bill Hall each delivered RBIsacrifice flies to stake Milwaukee to a 3-0 advantage.

Colorado has won four consecutive home games.
