QUOTE (SouthPawNYM)

Make that 5 games. Wright & Alou have been red hot, Reyes is on a tear stealing bases, Beltran is getting hot, Castillo is proving to be the right acquistition, El Duque & Glavine have picked it up & it's only a matter of time before Maine & Perez get back into gear & when Pedro gets back, forget it. Even Mike Difelice is making moves!!! Tex might help for a little while, but the back of Atlanta's rotation needs to step up if they want the wild card. By the end of september, the Mets will be looking in the rear view mirror, only to see the image of Atlanta & Philly get smaller & smaller...

DiFelice is the best base runner in the league, bar none.

Of course it was made when he thought they had a shot, and quickly shut up and ran when he saw they didn't.

Haha half the Mets' team is injured and the bullpen is a mess and they are extending their lead.

Hope you enjoy your three months of Tex. I'm sure he'll escape when he gets the chance and then you can re-sign Andruw Jones!

    Braves unclutch against David Weathers.

    Mets super-clutch against Trevor Hoffman!

The Dodgers and Twins literally gave these guys to the Mets. Omar is some kind of sorcerer.

    That's impossible!

The thread title clearly states they are "closing".

And Big Tex is mashing the ball. No way they are dropping games right and left to the gimpy Mets.

Don't ask me why I'm watching Mets games all of the sudden but damn, Anderson with a 3run homer.

By soon, you mean today [IMG]

God, I hope for a sweep by either the Angels or Mariners this weekend.

Nothing against the Mets, just some douchebag fans. (Who claim they had a harder schedule because they're playing all the teams that made the playoffs last year, and start ranting about how awesome Santana is, even though they play in different Leagues.)

Mets are going to be fine. They have clutch players and experience to win late in the season.

Philly will choke and Atlanta is too hot and cold.

Beltran is hot again and D Wright / Reyes combo is sick!
