David Wells to be designated for assignment

It seems like an overwhelming no, but I looked at his stats today and now Im not so sure...235-156 with a 4.12 ERA....in an era in which very few pitchers are reaching 300 wins, does his 235 qualify? Im still leaning toward no, but its a lot closer than I thought before I saw the numbers....</div><div align="center"></div><div align="center"></div>

    No. He's not even close. ERA is too high, not enough Ks to warrant consideration at all. </p>

    I dont think he is Hall worthy.</p>

    It sucks he is pitching so terribly, because the Padresare going to needall the arms theyhave to try and win the division down the stretch.</p>

    DW won #236 tonight....how many more makes him HOF worthy? I think 250 gets him in

    ERA too high. He's not going to the HOF.</p>

    Here's what I love about Wells.</p>

    In 10 years, when he's 54 and weighs 350 pounds, he could come out of the stands after a decade of eating fried chicken and never picking up a baseball and pitch five good innings.</p>
