It's not Yi, it's China. They would'vetried to pull the same stuff with Yao, but Houston was lucky they were a good city etc.
Yi came out and said that he is the one saying he doesn't want to play in Milwaukee, and the Chinese government isn't the one doing this.
Its just an entire cultural thing. A lot of the Chinese who come to the United States in some type of priveledged, and wealthy state, seem to think they're above the United States, and are just very arrogant people.
Coming into next years draft (since it seems like he's doing to be a dick, and stay out of Milwaukee), his draft stock has to have plumetted. He went out in summer league and absolustely sucked. Horrible. He shot like 25%...and I don't think that was his FG% even, I'm pretty sure thats what his TS% was at. The guy was AWFUL. Teams are watching it. The teams already know if they're good for Yi or not. Chicago, Golden St, LA, Sacramento, they know they're good to go to take him. Teams aren't going to be afraid to take him for that reason, they know if they're in the club or not. They will be scared to take him because he sucks so much. Next year in the draft, it might go from Yi trying to force his destination, to feeling lucky someone finally nabbed him. It would be absolutely lovely to see him fall to the 2nd round with no garaunteed money.

Stern really should step in with a 'play or be banned' speech. After the Fran Vasquez situation you'd think some sort of by-law specifically holding international players to accountability would have been introduced...

He entered the draft, you go play to where you got drafted (unless you're a shithead like Steve Francis), not where you want to go.
