There is a huge drop off in talent in NBA benches from 8th men (i.e. rotation players) to scrubs

Yeah, and a 1st round selection >>>> bench help.

There is a huge difference between a franchise player and a 6th man.

The difference in my trade was not a franchise player for a 6th man. Sure, I gave up my 1st rounder, but I was able to pick up 2 very good players in the 2nd round, and my starting lineup is now set. And we're not even done with the 4th round yet. By the time the 7th round is done, my 9 man rotation will be complete. When the 9th round is done, my roster will essentially be filled. And there will still be 3 more rounds after that. My trade was not lopsided in the least. I just chose to go for a strong overall team, rather than a team led by superstars with a weak supporting cast.

As I said earlier in this thread, I love JCB's team.

He has a lot of work to do, but he did about as well as he could without a first round pick.

Also, he does have one player who has a chance to be a first round value in the near future - Monta Ellis.

And is that not what Giantsfan1 would be doing? He'd have 3 10th round picks and move from the end of round 11 to the beginning of round 11, hence gaining significantly for his bench.

Giantsfan doesn't count because he lives in 2001 and the time difference makes trades impossible.

I'm a big fan of JCB's team too. It will be good now and has a chance to be great in the future, but by saying he did as well as he could without a first round pick you are essentially admitting that his team isn't good enough to win a championship, which is what a player of Carmelo's ability would've given him a chance to do.

Wilcox will run. So will Odom. This makes the selection of Randolph even more mind boggling..

Great pick Weasel. I was hoping he'd slip to my pick.

Dude, it wasn't a mistake the first time. I'm glad you're vigorously defending your strategy, but it throws the whole thing out of whack. Every fantasy league has a way of disallowing stupid trades.

GK6 is like the Rod Thorn of this GM Draft, making lopsided trade after lopsided trade.

is that all you do is try to get people to do incredibly stupid trades? because that'd actually be a great strategy.

I'm willing to listen to offers on TJ Ford.

I think Miller fits your team well and is solid at this point, if he can stay healthy and out of a wheelchair.

He was the top C on my list, but I was hoping he would fall to the end of the next round. Nice pick.
