Fesenko will DOMINATE the NBA.

Damn this Oden injury. But at least I've got a crazy young frontcourt. I think Jason Smith and Fesenko are probably going to be pretty good bench guys for most of their career anyway.

I was thiiiiiiiiiiis close to taking Pecherov, but he looks like more of a PF, and I wanted a center instead. Besides, he's got basically the same skill set as Jason Smith. Good pick though - all indications are that he's a crazy gym rat, working something like 5 hours a day, 7 days a week before the season starts.

    Yeah!

    I got my guy!

I love that dude. I watched him play in the summer league last year and I couldn't believe how much better he was than I expected (and this was over a year ago). He was clearly better than Blatche, who I also like.

Pecherov is a real inside player. He isn't big and strong, but he's nowhere near the ineffectual stick I expected to see.

If he doesn't pan out, I'll be shocked.

Also, he has the most triangular head in the history of the NBA.

And I wanted to take Smith.

I think Pecherov can play center. Wait until you watch him. He's not what you expect at all from reading about him.

You want to start an interesting debate?

I think both of them are just as good or better than Yi. How about that?

I have other needs, but Songaila is a solid rotation player who solidifies my frontcourt and complements the rest of my bigs.

GK6 you don't want to run Stuckey as your SG?

    Thoughts on Kenny Thomas?

And is he healthy enough to start the season? Last I heard of him he had toe fracture in April. Cant find any news beyond that.

at this point, Kenny was a pretty good pick. last i knew, he was a starter. he puts up pretty good numbers, but his height and defense limit him.

i liked the flip and hart picks. but, of course, it's obvious as to why i'd like the hart pick

dahntay was a good pick, and Batista could be good this season. he was good in the FIBA tournament.

    wait---BG7--what about this:

QUOTE (BG7 Lavigne)

Esteban Batista hasn't been able to get off the Atlanta Hawks bench, thats the definition of a scrub right there.

    hmm...

Thats a pretty solid team right there. Plenty of shooters, athleticism, low bloock big men, shotblocking, outside shooting, ball handlers.

Not sure why interest drops off so markedly towards the end of the draft (which is the most interesting part, imo). But I'm finishing my team off in 3 days.

i guess it's because overall, the draft lasts long. people get busy with things, and circumstances happen to others that prevent them from participating when they'd like. and some just forget about it.

Derrick Byars wasn't taken was he? I searched through the threads and couldn't find his name. The first page of the pick-thread isn't updated so i'm not 100% sure

There have been WAY too many 2007 draft guys going so far. Some of them do deserve to go, but a lot of the guys getting drafted just aren't quality ball players.
