The 27-year-old Beckett (14-5, 3.31 ERA), who is looking for histhird straight 15-win season, gave up just one run and eighthits with nine strikeouts in a 9-2 victory over the SeattleMariners on Monday.


Boston is 3-4 on its nine-game road trip. The Red Sox's lead inthe American League East Division of the New York Yankees hasbeen trimmed to just five games.
