Okay, so I've been in a money league for about ten years now with the same peeps. This year I draft #3 overall in the first round. Knowing these people, it's pretty much a given that the first two picks are going to be LaDanian Tomlinson and Steven Jackson.
So who the hell should I pick at #3???
Help?

Peyton Manning? He's usually ranked 5th in prerankings. Then you could grab a sleeper RB like Jones-Drew, Peterson, Westbrook or someone later?
How many teams?

The safe bet is Peyton, but if you are in a deep league (10+ teams) I would suggest going with a RB. Frank Gore, Larry Johnson, Addai, Westbrook, and Alexander are all pretyt similar im my rankings. I would still go with Johnson, because he is going to get 20 carries a game and will be the focal point of the offense, no matter how long he holds out.

I'm in close to the same boat. LT's the obvious #1. Is Jackson a clearcut #2 over Manning? (I'm picking second).
I'd definately take Jackson over Manning 2nd.

Jackson runs, receives, and scores, in a high powered offense. What more can you ask for?

Is it a keeper league?

Frank Gore....hes approaching the other two statistically because hes the main focus of the 49ers offense....Frank Gore is your guy
But...they said they want to lessen Gore's workload this year, and he's currently sporting a broken hand.
Manning shouldnt be in considering at pick #2 or the first round for that matter. If you are getting 6 points for TD passes it is a different story, but still RBs are far more valuable than QBs.
I read a good article today and they stated the difference between Drew Brees and Jon Kitna was 3 fantasy points per game.

Jackson is the clear cut #2 player this year, in my opinion.
PA I'm in the same situation in one of my leagues. I got pick #3. I'm going Larry Johnson. I heard that the Chiefs and LJ are close to signing a long term contract. Besides LJ never said he'll holdout into the season. Just training camp. Just my two cents though.
Don't be a fool and take a QB though. You know that I'm sure.

Take Rex Grossman! -snickers- Uhm. LJ would be a nice pick or Gore. Good thing Im picking first in mine.
Doh... As it turns out, I have the #5 pick this year, not number 3. I almost think that makes it worse...
I'm guessing it will go:
1. Tomlinson
2. Steven Jackson
3. Larry Johnson
4. Frank Gore
5. Kenn gets screwed here with #5 (Shaun Alexander?)

After looking through alot of preranked lists its pretty much RBs from 1-10, players im really high on are Joseph Addai and Laurence Maroney this year. Maroney should be money for any team this season because Corey Dillion is finally gone so he will be getting pretty much all the carries for the Pats, also with the addition of Moss and Dante' to their team expect the defense to focus less on the running game, I predict he goes for 1200 rushing yards with 12 TDs and 300 recieving yards with 2 TDs. Addai similar to Maroney is pretty much going to be seeing alot more carries with Domick Rhodes gone from the Colts team, as a rookie he was able to pile up over 1400 all purpose yards and 9 TDs overall so I expect him to improve on those numbers dramatically. So when your entering your draft sometime within the month definitely give these players some serious consideration.
Holy crap! After watching the Broncos and 49'ers tonight, I think I'm going to have to beg/borrow/steal to make sure Travis Henry is on my team this year. Wow...
The 5th pick is an interesting one. Addai, Parker, Alexander, or the steady Rudi Johnson are good picks there. Obviously it depends on how many people are in your league and the socring system.
Dont listen to Shanny the Rat. I dont care if he says Henry will get nearly all the carries, the line is as weak as it has been in a long time and Shanny never commits to one back.
