That's true. He wouldn't bring that toughness back, but that doesn't mean we still wouldn't be a better team with O'Neal than we are right now.

I love how on basketballforum, someone thinks Thorn is hinting about getting a big man.

The Nets wouldn't be a better team with him and it has nothing to do with any comparisons to Kenyon

Hardly spot on. Jermaine O'neal was one of the best defensive big men in the league last year.

His offense is the terrifying part of his game. His defense is fine.

The Nets did sign Magloire, that will help out. He has a big body, he can defend, block shots,Rebound, and score. I think he will solve some of their problems, but not all...

Kenyon was a perfect fit with that team. It was a well balanced squad with its only weakness, not being able to score in the post. Kenyon was great but he really needed a centre who was able to hit shots, pass well and rebound. Sadly we will never have a team like that for years to come, if at all. VC was a Kittles upgrade offensively but doesnt run the break, pass, defend or get his team mates involved as well. I lovewatching VC but if the other option was a healthy KMart and Kittles insteadof Magloire and Carter Id take skittles and kenyon any day.

The only people that think JON is a good defender are the people that just look at the stats and don't watch the games.

I agree we won't see a team close to that for a long time mostly because that team was built on perfect timing.

Van Honr and Kittles were healthy, A great player like Kidd was on the market for basically nothing (Marbury).

And still Rod Thorn would get lynched if he even considered it...
