MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- A former Memphis Grizzlies administrative assistant is suing the team for $3 million, claiming sexual harassment after her supervisor made several unwelcome sexual advances.

Breshetta Clark claims in the federal lawsuit that Carl Howard Parker, the team's engineering director, sought sexual favors while her husband was away on military duty.

Clark, who filed her claim in May, is seeking compensatory and punitive damages of $3 million against each defendant in the case -- the Grizzlies and Parker, according to court documents.

The suit says the team's human resources department didn't address her repeated complaints and "nothing was done to stop the pornography, the jokes or the hostile environment" -- which allegedly occurred from May 2005 to April 2006.

The Grizzlies have filed a response to the lawsuit denying its employees acted in the way described and that if "plaintiff's rights were violated, any such violations occurred outside the scope of its employees' employment or agency and without the consent of the defendant."

Clark also accused Parker of allowing sexually graphic content to be viewed on a computer in the engineering office and retaliating against her when she complained to team officials.

Parker could not be reached for comment on Wednesday. Officials said he was no longer with the company.

Lisa Krupicka, an attorney for the Grizzlies, said she could not comment on the case while it's pending.

Clark's attorney, Kathleen L. Caldwell, said Wednesday that Clark worked in a "very hostile work environment."

"She was miserable and she has had significant health problems as a result," Caldwell said.

She said Clark has received disability payments since leaving the Grizzlies.

The lawsuit states Clark "has suffered and continues to suffer grand mal seizures, which have been a direct and proximate result of the work-related stress. She is permanently and totally unable to work."

Updated on Wednesday, Aug 15, 2007 2:52 pm, EDT

End of women in the NBA coming? Or maybe the NBA needs more females and less men like that...

Not my personal opinion, but just a contrasting idea.

I doubt 2 sexual harassment cases will halt the hiring of women. If that was the case, we'd have no women working at all in the business world. Two harassment/discrimination cases are nothing.

The woman is clearly a nutcase. Why would you hire a woman, when all of them currently in the NBA make up stuff. I have a hard time believing that the Grizzlies franchise is just some porno network where the guys sit around watching porn all day while making lewd jokes.

The sheer lunacy of attempting to blame sexual harassment cases on women is actually quite troubling.

Do you realize how many women are employed by the NBA, and there are only 2 of these suits? And the one with Isiah Thomas may have merit.

    Stop with the misogyny.

No, that isn't clear. What is clear is that you are lacking real world (and I don't mean some crappy TV show) exposure to people. There is nothing crazy about the woman's claims.

It simply sounds like you were scarred by a woman before in your life. I think it might be time to move on.

QUOTE

Causes

Grand mal seizures occur when the electrical activity in a large region of the brain becomes abnormally synchronized. The cause of seizures remains unknown in about half of cases. However, grand mal seizures are sometimes caused by underlying health problems, such as:

[*]Very low blood levels of glucose, sodium, calcium or magnesium[*]Traumatic head injuries[*]Using or withdrawing from drugs, including alcohol[*]Infections such as meningitis or encephalitis[*]Brain tumors[*]Blood vessel malformations in the brain or strokes
[/list]

    From the Mayo clinic.

If her problems were caused by stress, I would point to it coming from the stress of her husband being off at war first.

Sorry, just don't buy that the Grizzlies allow their employees to sit around and watch porn. Its just not realistic.

And you know what is realistic how? You've worked in corporate America for how many companies as an adult? You've worked in corporate America in how many different states and for how many different bosses?

Just stop. You have no idea what realistic is.

As to the question at hand... I'm not seeing any reason to get worked up about it. It's no different than the average lawsuit at any company... it doesn't even seem to involve players.

Ok, let say you work in an office as an assistant to a flaming gay man. And everyone else in the office is gay. And they watch gay porn where some "straight" dude gets fucked by six gay dudes. And they make sure you know they're watching it and probably even turn it on/up when you walk by. Your boss always stands uncomfortably close and makes jokes about how he'd like to see you in a movie like the one they're viewing a few desks behind you. People give you creepy looks and you could be wrong but it seems like those guys in the corner are talking about you.

You think that shit is fine? You cool with that? Maybe that kind of humilation is your thing but for most people in the world it isn't.

Maybe a one or two, but your the hot piece of ass that everyone is talking about. You quit, she sues. Only difference is she'll get rich off this and you'll just have a head full of strange question you wished you never had to ask about yourself .

Aside from that I'd like to; A) see a picture of this women, [IMG] get a little more information on why this incident has made her unable to work ever again.

There defiantly is something funny about the whole thing, however this attitude that thinks women bring things on themselves is wrong.
