<h3>Bonds, Giants set to face Marlins</h3>

San Francisco (51-70) at Florida (56-65) 7:05 pm EDT

MIAMI (Ticker) -- Barry Bonds makes his way to South Floridawhen the San Francisco Giants open a four game series againstthe Florida Marlins on Friday.


Bonds took the night off on Thursday in the Giants' 9-3 victoryover the Atlanta Braves but is expected back in the lineup onFriday. He hit his 759th career homer on Wednesday to move fourpast Hank Aaron atop the all-time list.


Bonds will be taking his hacks on Friday against Scott Olsen(9-9, 5.39 ERA). The 23-year-old lefthander has allowed threeearned runs in each of his last two starts, going 1-0.

Olsen has faced San Francisco just once in his career, earning awin while allowing one run in seven innings last season. Bondswent 1-for-3 with a strikeout in that game.


Taking the hill for the Giants will be Barry Zito (8-11, 5.13).The veteran lefthander has been a disappointment since signinga record seven-year, $126 million contract to join San Franciscoin the offseason.


Zito lost last Sunday at Pittsburgh, allowing three runs and sixhits in six innings. He was roughed up by the Marlins on July27, surrendering six runs and eight hits in four innings.

Florida dropped two of three to the Arizona Diamondbacks earlierin the week.
