Rosenberg: Hayes Adds Needed Depth

Well...Maxiell & McDyes are quality big men off the bench, and who knows what Amir will bring, but they are high on him, the talent is there...Hayes is a solid backup 3, but it's the guards you have to worry about. Flip and Stuckey are both combo guards, with neither being a true point.

 

I like Hayes (probably mostly cause I had him on my team in NBA Live and he did good for me), but I don't think he is a key piece to a championship team.

 

I used to like Hayes, until he got hurt all the time andwas neverconsistent.

 

They do need a real PG and a perimeter defender off the bench. I wouldn't trust Afflalo if I had designs on a championship</p>

Same here. While Afflalo might give you the effort on the defensive side of the ball his offense at the NBA level remains to be seen. If the Pistons are counting on him to come in and be a defender off the bench, they better hope he can replicate his success as a defender on the collegiate level very quickly.

 

I see a couple problems for em. First, let's not talk about the backups for a minute... who's their starter at center going to be? Webber aged 20 years in 2 weeks in the playoffs, and Nazr Mohammed was more or less shit-canned halfway through the season. So I'm not seeing who the starters are, much less the backups.</p>

Now, as far as the backups go... I'm not at all scared of Flip Murray. I do think Stuckey could be a very nice player, but I thought he was a bit of a project. Hayes seems to have been ruined by injuries, but he never really displayed much touch on his shot even before them.</p>

So add it all up, and I see them as a team in decline. Get another high quality player in the frontcourt and I'd feel differently, but I don't see it happening.</p>

 

i like the hayes pickup. he lasted long in free agency, i was surprised.

Hayes wil be good if he stays healthy... I think off the bench he will be a good fit.

 

That's ridiculous, Jarvis Hayes can hardly hit rythem jumpers what makes them think he's gonna be an amazing addition to the bench. Get ready to watch him brick shots left and right.
