I can't seem to figure out how to add a avatar to my profile. I'm weak in this area. Would someome please make a "Avatars for Dummies" post? Thank you in advance. [IMG]

    Hey guys,
take any pic on your computer you want to use and load it into a program like Paint (that's what I used). Under the image tab click "stretch/skew". Adjust the picture size by scaling to a percentage of the original. If you roll your mouse over the picture after you load it into paint, The toolbar at the bottom will display what pixel you are at with your cursor. Pics have to be shrunk to 60 by 60 pixels or smaller. Once you get it sized save it somewhere on your pc. At the "save as" screen I would change file type to jpeg so it takes less memory. Then when you go to your profile and click the button to browse for an avitar, find the folder you stored it in on your pc. Select your pic and click the button (I think it was update?) to activate the avitar. Hope this helps.

If that doesn't make any sense try finding the avitar that you want to use and right click on the picture of it. Then click on the "save picture as" caption and click on create new folder. This should save it onto your pc. Now go to where it say's upload on your profile and click browse. This should bring up where you saved your picture. Click on the new folder option if it doesn't already appear and your file should show. Click on the file name and click upload. This is what I did and it worked. I hope this isn't to confusing and it will work for you as well. Good luck!

You can also go get your old avatar at the "other"site....the forums are down but the links to the avatars are still up....go there, pick the one you want, save it to your harddrive and then upload it to this site...that worked for me

Your avitar can be no larger than 60x60 pixels. My directions were for resizing it in case it was too big. That was the problem I had.

Thanks guys ... you're helping me become a computer wizzard! I started with a 1953 Bowman Bobby Layne card. I'll have to make a couple more Lion Hall Of Fame Avitars for your enjoyment.

Key word being "had." Barry Sanders is the only Lion, worthy of the Hall, that I can think of that didn't wear a leather helmet. jk

Zackman, considering your penchant for pointing out the moral or behavioral flaws in the players of today, I find it interesting that you would start anything with a well know party-animal like Layne. [IMG]

Just funnin' with you. Bobby Layne is one of the greats of all-time (on the field and off LOL). However, I do have a question for you... Why are your first two avatar images players that also played in Pittsburgh? Are there some feelings for the Steelers (Pirates) coming through? [IMG]

And stranger still, before the Lions moved to Detroit, they were called the Spartans... Just like SF's fantasy team... Hmmmm.

I've been enjoying the Zackman's original, throwback avitar. Maybe I'll sneak a Len Dawson in here sometime?
