What's better?? ipod has domination but it isnt neccisarily the best, creative zen have good customer service and are cheaper. Example ipod 1gb nano vs creative zen nano plus 1gb - creative is ?1 more expensive but it has a microphone and is smaller and comes in a larger variety of colours. So which should I buy?
I have a Zen Vision M and it beats the equvalent iPod in every department other than size as its slightly thicker but it just feels more durable TBH!! I'd recommend the Creative as they are known to have better sound quality than Apple products and usually longer battery life but I'd be doing so blind as I've never owned the one in question.
I like iPod better because the design just rocks. I don't care about the hype as long as ithe player looks good in my eyes. And that's it. I don't like the design of the Creative players but the Zen Vision M looks great. But the player isn't very slim. I had a creative one before, I think its name was 'MuVo Slim' and the quality was shite. Wasted money .. I gotta say, the microphone was quite cool. But there's nothing else to say .. And don't forget about the cool docking stations, earphones, .. all the equipment that fits perfectly with the iPod .. ?ben: You mentioned the durability. The feeling, the iPod's too slim and it could be broken doesn't last long.
Can I ask a question to the people who are talking about looks of the player: Why? It's on your pocket all the time. No one see's it unless you have it in your hand, and then, the prettier it is, the more liekly you are to get robbed. I'm gonna run interference on this battle with my iRiver H140. Sturdiest bit of tech kit I've ever had. I've dropped it down concrete stairs, kicked it, people have trodden on it and it's bashed to fuck, but works just the same as the day I bought it. Completely and utterly solid. Hold 40Gb of music, has superb sound on the right headphones (Shure E2C's) and comes standard with features a lot of other players (mainly the iPod) expect you to pay extra for.
Never had an iPod or a Zen. I just use my Sony Ericsson as a mp3 player. I don't need more than that. But if I'd buy one I'd probably pick the Zen from Creative.
i have only had Ipods so i'd choose Ipod but what u didnt say is the Iriver, you should look at them... iriver Global Home

I don;t see how owning an iRiver makes me rich when, at the time I bought it, an iPod with the same capacity was about £50 more.

True but these were just accidents. Whenever I'd kicked it it was because it had dropped on the floor or made it's way out my bag on the floor or something. Most of the damage was while I was Uni so my stuff was always strewn everywhere.
id get the creative zen. Its mad as, and it ahs better features. Ipods are alright but they are a bit overated. They arent as good as everyone says.
i don't use either cos i have my SE K750 with a 4gb card but i would prefer to have an ipod because IMO they have better sound quality
