Pick five premiership players who you think are the most underrated by both pundits and fans and pick the five most overrated players in the premiership. This should encourage analysis of oppoents- I am interested to hear what people think. You can include players from your team but don't overdo it.
In no order: Under-rated Shay Given (Utterly dependable) Gareth Barry (Solid defensively and can score goals) Gary Speed (Been playing consistently at the top level since the beginning of the Prem) Robbie Keane (One of the most ruthless finishers in the country at any level) Phil Neville (Sheer versatility and is solid 99.9% of the time) Over-rated Obafemi Martins (Such a fanfare on his arrival but has done nothing) Kieran Richardson (Believes his own hype and has far too much to prove on the field) Jamie Carragher (Isn't anywhere near as dependable as centre backs from the other big teams) Freddie Ljungberg (Seems injured most of the time and has only show the very rare flashes of brilliance for years now)
5 Overated= 1) Shevchenko- not worth 30m 2) Martins- Fast thats it and he's obviously not 22 3) Makalele- The mos overated player in the World! 4) Christiano ronaldo- cry baby that flicks his legs a lot and cries when he doesn,win 5) Carvahlo-A wimpy defender who doesn't really do much 5 Underated=1) Gary neville- doesn't get as much credit as he should 2) Gilberto Silva- A consistant rock at the back of Arsenals midfield 3) Hleb- One of the best wingers in the premiership 4) Given- One of the best keepers to ever grace the prem 5) Toure- Brilliant centre back and has scored some screamers aswell
Underated: (1) Fabregas (he doesnt get as much credit for wot he does for arsenal) (2) Kanu (3) Aaron Lennon (4) Andy Johnson (5) jussi jaaskelainen (briliant keeper) Overated: (1) Jamie Carragher (The category says it all) (2) Xabi Alonso (can kick mad goals, but he isnt as good as everyone says) (3) Peter Crouch (One huuggee cherry picker) (4) Obafemi Martins (5)C.Ronaldo (A sook thatz good at stepovers. Way too overated)
