Damn, I was just starting to warm to the guy. Shame [IMG]

God forbid letting Sven enter the Uk, let alone joining West Ham. They would become the most hated team in Britian [IMG]

Would love to see a young English manager step up and make his mark on the world, someone like Ian Dowie would be good. Yes he hasn't won anything previously (apart from promotion). But it's all about making your mark.

Who do you guys think will get the helm?

Is this the major sign of the potential effects of foreign takeover? When Abramovich came, Ranieri's position was the subject of speculation for an entire season - and then he left despite a decent season under the autocratic rule that saw Bates disposed.

Now Magnusson, who stated just 4 games ago that he has great faith in Pardew's ability has gone for the easy option, seemingly forgetting his immense achievement last season - not just an FA Cup final but a top half place, which is exceptionally difficult for a newly promoted side, even if they do have a certain prestige and history.

It is unfair on Pardew, and such immediate change under new owners may act to destabilise the club even further. But, as with Charlton, there was a risk that poor form would simply continue and relegation become an inevitability unless a new coach came in - if only for a change in the players' perspectives and attitude.

I'd imagine many Hammers fans will be quietly happy at the prospect of a new, perhaps more-renowned manager, manager having substantial funds to spend soon.

Magnusson could not risk and did not wish to risk a large outlay in January with Pardew - he obviously couldn't trust him.

Probably wanted their own man in place before they give him £15-20m in the transfer window.

Pardew's made mistakes, but he's struck me as a progressive young manager who'll learn from them.

His biggest mistake is the one that's finally done for him - too loyal to players who've let him down and underperformed.

Maybe now they're playing for their futures they'll have the decency to put in the sort of effort you'd expect from well paid professional sportsmen and not the shambolic performances of the last two games.

Good luck to Alan Pardew - and good luck to the players - with a new manager, it's their heads on the chopping block, and if they let him down the way they did Pards, they'll bl**dy well need it!

Shame to see Pards go , but the results this year have been poor... I think the players are to blame as much as him though - NRC, Harewood etc.

It's only worth doing if we have someone decent to replace him with... i hope they have one of the main 2 names that have been discussed e.g Sven or Curbs as I feel that would be an improvement.

People slate Sven but he was a very good club manager. He did get England to 3 1/4 finals which compares pretty good with all the England managers since Alf Ramsey. Anyway this is a club not country. I think he could be very good. Him or Curbs would be good.

Sven will be the end of West Ham. Lazio are only now just pulling themselves out of the financial hole he left them in. Fair enough, Eggert has the readies but is it the best move? Curbishley would pull that team out of relegation and at least to safety before whiping them into a similar shape to last season.
