So picture this, you're a rich multi-billionaire who wants to invest in a premiership football club! you've just set aside ?40 million to spend and another 100 million to buy a club, my first question would be what club do you buy? (note: 100 million isn't enough for a top notch club). Bolton, Man City, Reading, Charlton, Watford, Sheff Utd, Fulham, Middlesbrough, Wigan, Blackburn are clubs you could afford (I'm not sure on what clubs would actually cost so lets just leave it at these). Now back to the ?40 million spending money, how would you slice n' dice your new club? maybe new manager? players? stadium? whatever you want! <font size="1">Please be realistic with players/managers you bring in and calculate how much they would cost, roughly.</font> ----------- I'd purchase Bolton, keep the current manager (Allardyc) and take the current players into this formation: <div align="center"> <div align="left">So I'd be looking to invest that ?40 million into 3 defenders and 2 wingers. I'd most likely be able to persuade SWP to join at a cost of ?10 million. For the other winger I'd look into bringing Arteta, Cahill or Van der Meyde from Everton, somewhere in the region of ?10 million I suppose? Leaving ?20 on 3 defenders, which is roughly ?6 a pot. However Bolton couldn't attract anyone to big so I'd look into getting upcoming stars like Richards, probably be able to pick him up within the ?6 mark, knowing how bad the financial status of City. Luke Young for ?3 million and put a boat load (?9 million) into getting Gareth Barry. I'd attempt to loan Mido for a season with the option to buy at the end, providing my new club makes a ROT within the year. I feel those players at their full potential are a force not to be reckoned with and could beat anybody! What do you think? ----------- So which club would you buy and how would you slice n' dice it? </div> </div>
