Rooney broke a foot in April but was back playing by mid June (not fully fit admittedly). That means he has been more or less fit for about 7 months now. Can sven still be blamed for Rooney's lacklustre season? If not, than should we blame Fergie for not resting him earlier? If not, should we blame Saha for not setting up Rooney enough. If not, should we blame the midfield cause Rooney always seems to track back? If not, should we blame Crouch cause he doesn't complement Rooney in the England team? If not, should we blame Lampardo cause of taking too many shots instead of passing it to Rooney?
I am really not sure who we should blame and would love to find out from 606. All I know is that Rooney's perrenial goal droughts for club and country is someone else's fault

Rooney will be back to his best soon enough and then he will prove that he is the best player in the Premier League. He has already had a number of outstanding games this season and will probably still finish as United's top scorer.

Rooney's poor form due to Rooney being over-rated and a flash in the pan, simple. He has not improved since Euro 2004, and was probably better then. He's got a typical scouse mouth and temprement, and he isn't consistent enough to warrent the attention he gets, if England are relying on him to lead the way forward, then we are in trouble. If he was not English ie French or Italian, you wouldn't hear nothing about him. It's only because Henry is not English that he doesn't get the great credit he deserves.

This country is such of a need for a sporting hero that they'll make any flash in the pan superstar, the media, so called sport pundits, fans everyone!! You at freddie flintoff where he now...gets panned for not being a proper leader in a crap cricket team. same thing with Henman!! Okay rooney was good at 18 and showed promise but I think we would all agree and 18 and we played sports at school on a regular basis we all were full of beans able to run for hours on end and stuff. But as we get older everything slows down!! Everyones gloryified rooney too early started calling him world class when not even achieving anything!! Your seeing rooney going down hill!! by next year he'll be just another fat scouser!!

Maybe we should be asking why, Fank Lampards last goal for England was a deflection from a Greek defender? How many Lampard "goals" are deflections? Half? Definatly.

Prior to the world cup, Lampard was Englands most consistant thus best player and you take goals however they come. [IMG]
