There are several reports saying Smertin is heading West Ham's way. Ive got to admit I dont remember too much of him during his time at Chelsea/Portsmouth/Charlton, except for one or two decent displays in a Portsmouth shirt. He is 31 now, so has the experience West Ham need, but can any Pompey, Chelsea or Charlton fan tell us whether he could be a decent signing? What do fellow Hammers think?
I think he was more of an Abramovich signing for Chelsea, however he does score some cracking goals. IMO not top-flight football standard.
