wow if this is true i feel sorry for him, a great player and just found his bird was sleeping with richardson. he must feel so cheated now. source - tribal football and NOTW (not that reliable really) <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"><font size="4">Ljungberg in shock as Arsenal invite offers</font> tribalfooball.com - January 06, 2007 Arsenal are putting midfielder Freddie Ljungberg up for sale. The News of the World says Ljungberg was told the bombshell news he could leave the club last week. And an Arsenal insider confirmed: "Freddie never saw it coming. "He's completely stunned. "He has been frustrated by the amount of games he has played recently but his heart and soul has always been with Arsenal. He had no idea the club was planning to force him out. He can't believe he's been treated like this." Now the Swede will even be offered to Premiership rivals Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool as Arsenal try to off-load him during the transfer window. And Portsmouth, Newcastle, Everton, Tottenham, West Ham and Watford will also be on red-alert now the 29-year-old - one of Arsenal's highest-paid players on around ?70,000 a week - is surplus to requirements.</div>
It's a shame if he leaves because despite playing for Arsenal, he was one of my favourite players but he's been worthless for the past 2/3 years and with younger guys like Hleb and Rosisky in the team he's not needed any more which is a shame as if he was injury free he could still be a top player
wouldn't mind seeing him sign for us, his wages may become an issue though. Has he really played at all this season?
no lol. He hasnt played much this season..poor bastard. Hes had a calf injury which wouldnt go away. He woz one of my fav players, im sad to see him go. But it is the right thing to do though. Honestly, we dont need him. We have van persie rosicky etc. who are doing their job fine. I'd hate to say it but i guess its time to go Freddi...
taken from arsenal.com <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">You should read our website," suggested Ars?ne Wenger when the question of Freddie Ljungberg's future was raised at his pre-match press conference. The Frenchman told Arsenal.com on Thursday that the Swede "still has a lot to offer us" but reports linking Ljungberg with a move refused to go away. Wenger finally killed those rumours stone dead on Friday. "Freddie will stay here," insisted the Arsenal manager. "I made a statement on our website that Freddie is and will be part of our squad. He knows that and I have clarified that with him this week." Wenger admitted that Ljungberg had been uncertain about his future but, as far as the Frenchman is concerned, the 29-year-old still offers something unique in midfield. "You know there is competition here for every position and when you see vibes coming out of the newspapers you wonder 'is that being provoked by the club where I am, is it by my agent, is it provoked by the club who wants to buy me?' "I needed to have a clear chat with him to see how he feels, whether he accepts competition for places. He does and he is ready for that. "It has been frustrating for him because of injuries but we are a Club who can afford that. We have a number of players but when Freddie is fit he is a winner, he is a big-game player. "He still has a big part to play here. I think he gives us something that no one else does, he makes runs from midfield behind the defenders while the other players come to the ball. It is an interesting asset to have in your team."</div> i guess thats killed all rumours here....
