With man u in a very strong position and chelsea in their own i now think that the fight is on to see who will clinch third place. I think it will be arsenal but their are still many teams in contention for it. please let me know what you think

Ok lets get this straight, theres still a long way to go til the end of the season, so the premiership isnt anyones yet. Man utd are the favourites, being 6pts in front of Chelsea and 14 and 15pts ahead of Liverpool and Arsenal. So that rounds out the top four. As for Bolton, like Arsenal, they are on 39pts, so we cant really kick them out, that would be a bit unfair.
The pompeys are only 3pts behind that, coming 6th but only 4 pts seperating them from 3rd position liverpool. Tottenham and Everton are in 7th and 8th position respectively, with the spurs being on 32points, 7pts behind the reds. Plus they are into the semis of the league cup, so they still have a good season to look forward to.
As for Everton, they are on 31pts and lets be fair to say it doesnt look too good for them.
Everyone else is pretty close behind, as 17th placed Wigan are only 9pts behind them. So IMO, if you arent above the spurs, u hvnt really got a chance. Even though the toffees are 1 point behind, their form isnt on their side.
But the only teams that have a descent chance of winning other than man u are:
    .Arsenal
    .Chelsea
    .Liverpool
    .Bolton
    .Portsmouth
    .Tottenham (just)
.Everton wont but have a remote mathematical chance of winning

So we cant really guarantee Man Utd a 1st and same with chelsea a 2nd and Arsenal 3rd etc. So in other words, the title is well and truly up for grabs.
My opinion on the top 5:

    Man Utd
    Arsenal
    Chelsea
    Bolton
    Liverpool

Seriously, that is my oppinion. I believe man utd are strong enough to hold onto top spot the whole way, as they have been virtually the whole season.
Chelsea are a great team, but not as good as they can be. IMO, they arent consistent enough to hold out 2nd, and will just fall to Arsenal.
    So thats the top 3.
As for 4th and 5th, both are great teams but I think Bolton is the stronger and more consistent of the two this season, and 2 thrashings by Arsenal in the League and FA cups wont help Liverpool the slightest bit.
So theres my top 5. Obviously there can be almost a hundred other possibilities, but thats the way i think things will turn out.
    Cheers.

no offence, but im not too sure about Chelsea leap frogging man utd.
They have a tendancy to stuff up important game which will bring them closer to man utd. Everytime man utd lose, chelsea hardly win.
To catch up, you need to win all the time. Plenty of time in the season though, so its hard to say. Bolton will finish above Liverpool IMO.

    Liverpool for sure.
With the takeover imminent, our squad will be strengthened before then end of January and I reckon we could even hope for a slip up by Chelsea and go for second.

im not saying this just because i support chelsea...

i think we will win the league, we are getting all of our players back.(robben, cech, terry)
and Man U have arsenal this weekend which i think Man U will lose as they lost at old trafford. so theres a 3 point gap If we beat liverpool(god i hope so). and Man U cannot keep this form up, if they get a couple of injurys i think theyll start dropping points then we can leapfrog them. we can only get better from here, we were playing shit and yet managed to keep the gap to 6 points which i think is great for the way we've been playing.

so to sum up, Chelsea will win the league.
