as i watched some lions games this year, they impress me and i dont see a major weakness. they are rebuilding and i know that they have a lot of young talent, but for the future i see a solid secondary,(holt, bly) a good offense, harrington, rogers, hakim, stewart when hes healthy.
what position whould you draft for this year. either side of the line?

Stewart will be cut. They'll go for a RB for sure. They'll have a lot of cap space this year. What they don't get in Free Agency they'll go after with the 6th pick in the draft.

whys he gonna get cut? i can see you going ater one of the CBs, i think bobby taylor is from that area and might want to go play home for his career.

Stew will be salary cap move. Charles Woodson also played college ball at Michigan, so he may come home. He's younger, he and Champ Bailly will be targeted. I do agree they'll sign a FA CB.

Champ will be tagged, i hear woodson will re-sign and even if he decides not to HE will get tagged to. millen would be a idiot to give up the 6th pick for the right to one of them. yea they are young and great but theres other CBs out there to go after that wont get the tag.
thats why i said taylor, but also shawn springs, antoine winifield will probably be available. mccalister will get the tag again i think and i just talked about that.

i really like this lions team. i really think they have a good core and a strong offensive foundation.

Taylor or Springs? You may be right Trav. RB Steven Jackson from Oregon State with the 6th pick. 6'2" 230 w/hands.

BT or SS just makes more sense. umm this draft isnt that stocked IMHO, its morelike top 15 picks are great then it drastically drops. If Chris Perry has a nice combine i can see you taking him, or maybe trading back and taking him, youd take another homeboy in the first round. Ive liked him his whole career there and think hes like a jamal lewis when jamal was first drafted becasue hes a workhorse but could break one at any time.

    Mccalister,winfield,bryant,springs,vincent,bobby taylor,will allen,woodson,champ bailey,ahmad plummer are free agent
corners out there lions will get one of them.

As for the lions draft at 6.

    stephen jackson or larry fitzgerald.

2nd round they could take chris perry, darren sporoles,
cedric benson all capable of first round.

Yes detroit will be cutting billy schoreder, james stewart
they actually have money to spend. If im det i sign
the cheaper corner like winfield or bryant save the money
cause dre bly is a playmaker. Det towns future is headed in
the right direction. Imagine that zack rogers, fitzgerald and benson
    on your offense.

they wont take fitz. i dont think fitz will last past 5, and they already hae rogers and hakim. i can see them going after a FA WR maybe like steve smith who is good. chris perry in round 2? i thought he was the 2nd best back in the NCAA this year. kevin jones was the best.

i can see the lions taking a CBin the first round, chris gamble and d'angelo hall are pretty good corners with a lot of speed.kwame(sp) ratliff and derrick strait are just as good. possibly sean taylor, who is the best S in the draft, better than roy williams IMO and hits harder than john lynch. like i said with perry, if i was the lions id trade the 6th pick for a pick around 14 and a 2 0r a 3 and take perry or 1 of the 2 corners and have that later pick.

if youd keep the 6th pick, id probably take sean taylor iif he was still there, and take a chance that perry or jones is there later(i doubt it)

    but its still early

Nope lions wont even consider it a corner at the 6th spot.
This years crops of corners arent as good as years past.
Detroit is still leaning towards if hakim will be back. He is
another name they have mentioned not coming back.

Lions will take best avalible postion. Rb or Wr. Bank on it.

i think the lions might take shaun taylor, better S than row williams, ed reed, mike lewis, were in NCAA. what about KW Jr.? they could use a TE

Whether shaun taylor is like roy williams,ed reed, or mike lewis
is remained to be seen. He still has to play at this level. Remember
there's a corner in sandiago who was overhyped 2 years ago look
where he's at now, he's just avg.

Dawk, reading the det news, oakland press and watching local fox
det net. All have discussed the need for wr's and rb in detroit.
Alots been mentioned cause joey hasnt had any help, all the lions
receviers besides rogers have dropped alot of passes.

Schreoder, hakim, james stewart will likely be gone for cap reasons
detroit has alot of money to spend on free agency and there goal
is to get there franchise harrington, some help.

All this starts with the rb postion for teams to respect harrington
pass game he has to have a run game. Jurys still out on artose pinner
and it looks like he could be the 3rd down back. I honestly dont think
the lions will re sign bryson eithier, since he is a unrestricted free agent.

Ive went to many mock drafts dawk, and all have indicated
fitzgerald or jackson. Kellen winslow jr would fit detroit and the only way
detroit gets him is if they trade there 6 spot and get 2 first round picks
from a team wanting to move up.

Yea Dawk it was Jammer. Matt Millen wanted Jammer real bad. The Ford's and Mornhinwig wanted Joey Harrington. Millen was overuled. Harrington is not even close to being an average NFL QB at this point in his career. But as Bucs says we could see dramatic improvement if the Lions sign Juilan Peterson, Bobby Tayor and a solid #2 WR in Free Agency. Then draft RB Steven Jackson and some solid run blocking O Lineman.

Bingo!! zackman you hit the nail on the head, it will be interesting
to see if julian peterson re signs there or not. Sanfran is left with the
chioce to tag owens or peterson. Garrison hearst may also be cut
so look out marruchi could pick him up for cheap and do a rb by commitee
with pinner and hearst, not a bad idea. Then maybe you could take
larry fitzgerald or shaun taylor. If im detroit i make a call to new england
and talk to them about swaping spots for the 2 first rounders.

Honestly i Think GAMBLE is the best Corner in the draft and i think he will be a top ten CB in the near future. He reminds me of
    EMMIT SMITH???
    Not the biggest
    Not the fastest
    But he is a playmaker
