Yesterday i heard that an anonimous team (Expected to be either spurs or manu) offered the saints 10m for Bale. Then today, along with the transfer rumours was said that it was us who offered the 10m and Bale could sign for either spurs or manu any day now. There's no foubt that 10 million is a compeletly unreasonable price for a 17 year old in-experienced left back. However were are desperatly lacking a left-back which is why i wouldn't be annoyed if we were to sign him at that kind of price tag. However if i was a manu fan and they sign him for 10m, i would be very annoyed. Manu have two fantastic world-class left-backs (evra, hienze) and having spoken to many manu fans they still think they over payed for carrick and even ferdinand, in which case 10million for Bale (and they may even loan him straight back) would be the worst deal fergerson has ever made.
I made the point early that 10mil is a lot for a defender lacking in any top flight experience. The point i made was if we (Newcastle) were to offer 10mil for Heinze or Wayne Bridge (two experienced prem players), would it be excepted? I'm guessing it would & prob for less then the 10mil asked! Basically what im saying is id rather test man.u or chelsea with a 6mil bid, rather then fork out 10 million for an unknown and i think Spurs should do the same.
Too much to spend on a youngster, I think the bid has come from Tottenham. Would be a good player for Tottenham though, no doubt about that. However IMO he should stay on with Soton untill he's 19 or so and then make the big move..
Yeh, i dont really think Bale should come to the Utd, he is an ok player, but i agree he should stay at Soton, until 18-19.
He's been brilliant with us and imo I think that it would be stupid for us to sell him now. He should just wait and see what happens and dont make any rash desicions just yet. At the end of the day hes only 17 and has great talent, hes a great player and seems to be very comfartable with us. I think he should stay with us at least until the end of the season to see if we advance to the prem...C'mon the Saints
