    Has anybody heard any news on this? I personally think paying even ?5 mill for a player who's contract runs out in 6 months is desperation and ridiculous. Upson is good but he is not spectacular, we should go for left back if we are getting rid of Konchesky which it looks like as I don't rate McCartney as a good enough left back to keep us in the premiership as players like Lennon and Ronaldo will skin this guy.

    I agree with you biglips. You bidded 6 million and it got rejected..?
    I don't know if Upson's contract runs out in the summer, if it does then Birmingham have lossed out big time.. He's 27 years old and an alright cb, nothing special..
    Anyway, I can see the reasons why Birmingham have rejected the offer. As he's one of Birmingham's best players, and after loosing Dunn in the January transfer window, they wouldn't want to loose Upson too as they want to get promoted this season into the premiership..
