Have Vidic & Evra REALLY improved? Does anyone really think that Vidic & Evra have improved in the 12 months that they have been in the Premiership? Are they honestly better players now, than they when when they arrived at Old Trafford? I think both have improved greatly, both their understanding of the English game and their ability to work their most favourable features into the speed and agility of the Premiership. Most sensible fans would agree that 90% of that improvement has come simply through their experience, time has allowed their game to match the pace & thought that is the The Premiership. In 7 months time I expect that Andrei Shevchenko and Michael Ballack will too benefit greatly from this very same window of a years experience. Their game too, like Vidic's & Evra's, will have altered to ensure their understanding of situations is massively improved. To think, everything about the history of foreign imports suggests that Ballack & Shevchenko will improve by the same levels that Vidic & Evra have. How frightening could that be Arsenal, Liverpool & the rest next season! A double title winning side of the like of Chelsea - but with 2 major players who've improved to the degree that Vidic has at Manchester?

But there are also other factors to consider... age, desire, form etc I think Ballack has settled easily enough, but I am not sure his desire to perform is as high as it used to be. I do think Sheva will hit form soon though and that is a scary thought for all of us.

Re: Have Vidic & Evra REALLY improved? Evra is the most improved player in the premiership this year I reckon - and thats coming from a Liverpool fan. On to the main point about Ballack and Sheva. They're not really young players that are going to change their game much are they? I suppose though, based on your theory, players like Adebayor, Kuyt, Gonzales, Aurelio, Baptista, Rosicky, Agger etc. will become world class players for Liverpool and Arsenal and give Chelsea's 'double winners' cause for concern. Chelsea aren't the only team with new foriegn signings you know.
Re: Have Vidic & Evra REALLY improved? Both Vidic and Evra have been top quality buys. Vidic has been a rock at centre half and evra is a fantastic attacking full back. I must agree that evra has improved especially his passing and defensive cover(he's always been good at getting forward), He had a few dodgy games last season man city, west ham to name a couple but he's keeping Heinze out of the team now,must say i never seen that coming! he's a bit like ashley cole in my opinion and some of his performances have deserved MOM if they hadnt been overshadowed by Ronaldo,scholes etc. As to whether Ballack/Shevchenko will improve only time will tell but some players just cant adapt to the premiership. For me, scoring two goals against wycombe means nothing, The fact these guys are getting a little long in the tooth also goes against them

Anyway Evra and Vidic have been simply brilliant this year and i remember that Evra SHOULD of been MOM against Arsenal on Sunday
